Feeling unsupported after C-section, even with a partner at home

Has anyone else had a C-section and felt like you’re doing everything on your own, even though your partner lives with you? I’m struggling to recover, take care of the baby, and keep up with everything, but my partner doesn’t really help. Would love to hear if others have been in this situation and how you managed.

I didn’t struggle because he wasn’t helping but he wasn’t around due to work.

To help me, he hired a cleaner for us weekly and we still have her almost 2 years later. She would come weekly postpartum and it made my recover a lot easier after the second section. She’d change the beds, vacuum all 3 floors, mop, scrub the bathrooms, blitz the kitchen, start the laundry, sterilise bottles. I was able to relax with baby, pump or nap. It also meant for 2 days after I did no chores whatsoever and could focus on being mum for my toddler and baby.

If he won’t help you, you might need to just say you are getting help elsewhere in the meanwhile because you cannot pour from an empty cup xx

Does this seem a little rude?

I reached out to a cleaner from the care app. She took abt an hour to respond and didn’t even say hello but then after 15 minutes said hello like if I’m taking long to respond.

Taking care of our 3 year old, pregnant, sick.

My husband left for work at 6am, got home at 7:30pm. He didn’t even see our son once today, due to his sleep schedule. And my husband doesn’t think anything of it, didn’t say thank you.(he knows I’ve been sick)
My husband works late nights a couple times a week. He works 7 days in a row. I felt so exhausted tonight I was throwing up - bad nausea from pregnancy but usually not vomiting. I have a horrible head cold, congestion, headaches. I just feel bone tired. I don’t want to take Tylenol because it’s not recommended during pregnancy. My husband said he took a nap at work today since he was tired. Haha I just felt so unappreciated and realized we live two different lives. Our son never naps anymore so no naps for me. Just annoyed and wanted to vent

1st birthday - holiday or party?

I'm already thinking about my sons birthday in December :(

A lot of our friends have thrown a big hall party for their little ones & it was lovely to celebrate them and see them enjoy the day. However, I also think it a lot of money to spend & you don't really get to spend time with the baby and you get a cranky baby by the end of it..

I was thinking to go on holiday for his birthday somewhere tropical and nice, so that we could spend quality time with him.

But also don't want to miss out on the Polaroid first birthday .. what would you do? Have you gone on holiday for your baby's 1st birthday or thrown a party?

Dry boogies

My little one had boogies, and I used an electric nasal aspirator to get it out one day... and she didn't like it... but ever since then, she have heavy duty boogies, and I can't seem to get it out without annoying her... I'm letting it be atm, but it is blocking her nose today, and I can hear her breath. Any idea how I can get rid of boogies please?

Baby moving in sleep

My 6 week old moves around a lot in his sleep. To a point that he’s flailing his arms around and makes little grunt noises. It kind of looks like he’s trying to fight someone or swarm a fly away that’s the only way I can describe it…

Is this normal?
