Tears at nursery drop off

Hi all

My daughter started nursery 3 days a week when she was 14 months old and I went back to work. After the initial first week all tears stopped and she usually waves me off and smiles etc.. I love her nursery and the staff are incredible. She comes out happy everyday. I trust them and believe I couldn’t have found a nicer bunch of professionals to look after my daughter. However she’s just turned 2yo and all of a sudden she’s started crying hysterically at drop off. She does settle within minutes after we’ve left her and they usually update the app with photos to reassure me that she’s happy etc.

However even on the car ride to nursery she starts saying “NO PLAY HOUSE!” (that’s what we call it). Then the tears start. They have to prize her off me it’s awful. The only thing that’s changed recently has been
1) they’re trying to transition her from the baby room to the toddler room so she’s been having taster sessions in the other room. But apparently she loves it and I do believe she’s ready for an older environment.
2)The heat wave. They’ve been doing a lot of water play but she does hate the heat and this is when all the tears started. It’s probably a huge coincidence and I’m probably clutching at straws.

Any tips or ideas on how to help through this anxiety ?

Out of curiosity, how many hours of quality time are you spending with her each week day? I mean quality time. That's not getting washed, brushing teeth, getting dressed, feeding etc. I'm talking about playing with only? If the answer is less than 3 hours something is going wrong, and you need to make adjustments to be in her life. She'll be missing you

Partner unfaithful online

My partner has been sending explicit images of himself on a couples site. He did this without my knowledge and even put my initial and a fake age for me and had it set to a couples account without my knowledge or consent. He hasn’t used my photos he claims. But he says he thinks people thought they were talking to the lady of the account.

We have two children under 3. I have had HG and PPD both times, and only just getting better now mentally/emotionally. I’ve been under perinatal mental health. He’s been closed off and says he’s found it hard to talk to me truthfully about his feelings.

He said the way I’ve been acting towards him since our 2nd baby was born made him lonely and he wanted to escape who he’s become recently. I’ve felt very alone too, but have always put my kids and him above myself.

I’ve given him plenty of opportunities to talk with me and even at times almost begged him to speak to me and tell me what’s going on in his head. I’ve also been very upfront about what I need from him - more emotional vulnerability and honesty.

What would you do?

Potty training help!

My little girl is 27 months and she’s been doing so well with potty training, we’ve just put a potty in the living and let her go naked on her bottom half and we’ve now had 2 days without any accidents but the issue is when we then put knickers on her we’re having loads of accidents! How can we get past this? I want to be able to leave the house without her in a nappy !

Potty training in 3 days…

Every single person I’ve talk to about potty training has said it’s took months (and some have said a year!) before their child is going themselves to the potty/toilet.

Age of potty training don’t seem to make much difference - I’ve spoke to people who started earlier and some started later and not a single one has said they done it in 3 days.

Why are there so many people on here what say it took 3 days? I don’t understand. Am I being stupid? Do you just mean they work out to do a wee on the potty but still need reminding?

Am I overreacting?

OK mom, please tell me if I’m over reacting.

I have a toddler and a newborn one month old. My husband had a rough day at work and his best friend just got laid off. So he went to get beers with his friend and coworkers after work which he normally does by the end of the week. That’s fine. But after our two year-old went to sleep, he said he was gonna go out and hang out with the boys again, his best friend Friend the one that got laid off wasn’t even going to go to get more beers tonight. It was just some other coworkers so I’m like why are you even going? I mean I get he had a hard day at work but still like I want him to have a good time with his friends, but at the same time, my newborn is still up and she is having witching hour. I am stay at home mom so I have been home with them all day taking care of them all day. He should have a good time also but selfishly I am like maybe you should hang out with his friends in the daytime not at night? Or wait for the newborn to be asleep?

Anyways, am I overreacting?

Ugh Men!!!

I've been with my husband for 8 years this year (married last year) he's great Iove him but our sex life frustrates me no end!!!

It's always his way what he wants what suits him it's never and I mean never about me I don't orgasm ever I don't ever have any desire to have sex except for when I'm ovulating (mother nature 🥴) but I do it as it's part of a relationship however, the more I think about it the more I have no desire to have sex is because he's a get in get out kinda guy no foreplay no touching bar grabbing my noobs a bit no missing he literally just wants sex and when he's done (which isn't long btw) he just rolls over and goes to sleep I feel used I feel like an object (we've talked about it plenty of times( and it's got so bad now I'm craving someone to just notice me and want me and want to make me happy because I just don't feel like I get that at all I almost want someone to want me so bad to make him jealous and realise I'm not just his sex on tap person and I deserve to feeloved wanted and enjoy sex too!

Dong really know what the point is to this other than to being as it's currently 1:40am I'm angry and cannot sleep despite being tired I just feel so let down and annoyed. Hoping by venting and typing some of this out I can finally get some sleep before having to just be mum all over again tomorrow ugh 😔

Constantly being told by in laws my baby looks nothing like me and looks like her father, and his parents and basically everyone and their mum on my in laws side

How to stop feeling so disrespected by this. It’s been going on for 5 months now. And it’s making me so upset. I’ve told my in laws it’s mean and makes me feel upset. They don’t stop. They make jokes of it now. My husband doesn’t get why it upsets me so much.
I’m fine with her looking like him but, she literally has ALL of my features? And I feel like I have no respect as her mother and I feel like my sacrifices and all the energy I put into growing her and caring for her is invalidated because I’m constantly bombarded with being told she looks like everyone else. To the point I feel like I’m being pitied if anyone says she looks like me lol
