First C-section

Hello mommas! I wanted to know how everyone feels after their c-section? I had two vaginal births first which were high risk pregnancy due to my first born being a stillborn and my third baby was breeched so I had to have a c-section plus other complications in the labor but it is really hard to come to terms with it the pain the limitations not being able to play with my toddler and just the thought that if I want another baby (which we did) having through go through it again like I don’t want to and it was so traumatic and scary I just feel like a lot was taken away from me but I’m blessed my baby girl is here safe but can’t brush off this feeling.

It’s tough for sure! Especially those first few weeks. I had one vaginal, 2 c-section. The emotions of not being able to pick up the older ones is hard. One thing that helped me somewhat was focusing on holding the new one and remembering my healing properly would be the biggest benefit long term. And it’s temporary.

I didn’t have a toddler when I had my c-section so I can’t comment on that. But I wasn’t in pain when I got home. The only time that hurt was lying down and getting up from the bed. So I slept in an electric recliner (one of those old lady chairs that is designed to lay you flat for sleep and stands you right up on your feet without using a muscle) for two weeks before moving to the bed as I’m a side/stomach sleeper.

How long ago did you have your section? Have you seen your doctor at all? Have they given you meds?

My section was also because of a breeched baby. I also had complications after (internal rupture which left an internal bleed which caused an infection… I needed it packed and dressed daily at hospital and was on meds I couldn’t nurse on - that part sorta sucked and hurt getting it packed with gauze without pain meds). But my house has three flights of stairs and we have two dogs without a back yard so I was walking our dogs the day I got home from the hospital and such

Choosing our 2nd son's name just showed me even more, how culturally inept people are

We chose a first name for our 2nd son and yes granted it is very uncommon, but it's what my husband and I agreed on and loved. My husband is half British and half Jamaican, so the name is in honor of that. We chose the name Babatunde, also before we even chose that name our first son kept pointing to my belly saying "Baba". When I told family/friends I got some "LOL's" or "what a mouthful". I'm kind of used to this anyway because with our first son people STILL say his name wrong even though it's not hard at all and these people are family and his own doctor 🤦🏼‍♀️ I remember being at a baby group and a Mum asked if my son was Japanese because of the "weird name"... His name is Kaizen (pronounced Kaizen (like sky) and Zen (as in Zenn garden). He consistently gets called "keyzone" "keyzen" "kozen" half the time I know it's just ignorance. But all this opened my eyes even more to how inept or ignorant people are when it comes to other cultures or ethnicity. Obviously I'm extra aware especially with the way the UK is going. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this?

Near constant uncomfortableness at opening vagina

32w, I have near constant uncomfortableness and slight pain at opening of vagina, tried spritz for bits (does nothing), ice pack (soothes whilst it’s on but as soon as ice pack is warm again the uncomfortablness is back). This has been going on probably for 4 weeks now, I mentioned it to my midwife on the 24th and they just brushed it off… “you don’t look like you have a urine infection… does it hurt or burn when you pee” no… “ok your fine”.

Anyone else got this, and tips for how to soothe/ease the pain. Is this something I’ve got to just accept until baby comes?

Settle something for me.....

If your partner went out to the shop to grab a picture frame, and while out messaged "do you want anything else?" To which you replied "no", but then he came home with an ice cream for everyone in the family but you....would you be annoyed?

Like I didn't realise you were somewhere that even sells ice cream, and didn't realise everyone was getting ice cream but me!

Just to add, I'm currently 8 weeks postpartum and breastfeeding and so am permanently hungry 😂

Private Scan

I had my private scan today (reassurance for my paranoid self) and I’m measuring 3 days ahead (8 weeks 3 days) and then the man said oh do you want to see your baby in 4D? Didn’t think you could see an 8 week baby in 4D so there we go!
