What can we do apart from just using the fan on the baby. My 3 month old feels so hot to touch and he just wants to be held. I am scared to give him a cold water bath as he already has cold. What can we do more. My room temp is at 28 deg already.

I saw there are these things called warmies which are just stuffed animals you can put in the microwave to warm up. Just recently found out you can put them in the freezer! I’m going to be getting one for my little one.

Keep a muslin between you, a vest can help as it acts like sweat wicking, a cool bath (no cold) can be good but it’s not a great way to cool a baby down as it can be too rapid. Curtains and windows closed during the day. If you’ve got a loft then open the hatch and it helps some of the heat escape x

Heeeyyyy I live in the sunniest place on earth sooo…..I can tell you cause it gets 120000009948905738 ° here

Sooo with my boy he gets really really bad heat rash and has super sensitive skin….you can put him in a warm bath let the water run and pour it on him just let him sit there for a minute but as well don’t worry about it too much you know it’s nothing you’re doing and it’s just this bipolar ass heat also you can put ice in a ziplock then put it in a sock and rub his body….im only talking from experience and what I’ve done with my boy his cheeks are as red as a white babies sunburned red blushes cheeks….i did not mean to offend anyone.

Im putting a muslin under the tap and then squeezing it out so it’s just damp and dabbing my baby with it to cool his skin down

My midwife told me to lay them on a damp towel my little one didn't like this so I did a damp muzzy and her on me, she liked that, I also took her in the shower a bath wasn't an option, I take her on walks early morning and late evening to help her settle but they being on you is good because they are regulating their temp via you

Also close the curtains and some say use foil on the windows, we are getting black out curtains at weekend to help, also if there a breeze try and create a through draft

Keep curtains and windows closed to stop the warm air coming in. Just a nappy on. Both of kids always wanted to be held so I popped a damp muslin cloth between us to keep us both cool. And smaller but more frequent feeds. Plus a cool/lukewarm bath in the evening just before bed to get any sweat off them x

We use a water playmat too. For tummy time or sitting on or laying on (with a muslin between). She gets cooler really quickly xx

What time is your baby sleeping?

I felt guilty today when our health visitor said we should aim for baby to have night time routine completed and in bed by 7pm. It just feels way too early, my baby does not settle until much later. I wanted to find out how other parents are doing ?

My 10 week old daughter won’t sleep

Hi! So my daughter is refusing sleep and we have tried everything possible, currently 3 am and she’s been awake since 11 pm, I’ve fed her, changed her nappy, took her for a walk and even read her stories but nothing seems to be helping and it is so overwhelming, I’ve just started my period too so it’s really hard to rock her and hold her as I suffer with severe period pains and bleeding, I just feel like the worst mom for not being able to help her sleep.

14 month old wake up

Anyone got any tips on how to get my 14 month old to sleep past half 5?🙈 he goes bed every night between 7-7:30 and will have 2x 1 hour naps throughout the day.
I would like to get ready for work without chasing my child in the morning🤣

30 degree room!

Our flat hit 30 degrees in the night, it’s still 29 now at 7am. This makes me incredibly anxious for my baby. Does anyone have any tips to help cool baby?? We have one oscillating fan.

Baby Feeding

Hi Mums,
Gave birth to my first by c sec 3 weeks ago and tonight he went from 7pm- 1am without having a feed we are now at 5am and he still hasn’t woke up. When I’ve cried and told my partner that this just doesn’t seem right whilst he’s asleep he legit just thinks our boy is fine and has gone back to sleep it’s like he almost cares more about getting loads of sleep over our sons wellbeing and my initiative!! Has this happened to anyone else where they’re going long stretches just seems odd especially in the heat (bottle fed)

What’s your view on breastfeeding?

I EBF my first for 9 months

I only managed 3 months with my second. She is 10 months now and I still feel incredibly guilty for not doing it for longer.
