Hi all ,
Im 24 weeks pregnant and recently have felt increasingly isolated . Everyone is messaging my partner about the baby or how I am but no one is actually messaging me seeing how I’m doing .
I have no family due to growing up in care , I’ve never really minded not having my own family but I think this pregnancy is making me realise how many women lean on their mums/family at this time .
My partner does not seem to understand. I also feel like I’m the one pushing for things to get done such as organising babies things and decluttering the house. They won’t do something unless I nag which is making me feel worse as they then say their trying but to me it’s not good enough :(
Is this normal or has anyone else been in similar situation?

Hey! I’m 21weeks and I can definitely relate to the loneliness being very real!! My husband has a great social life and sometimes I find myself getting jealous to the point I cry for hours, I’ve recently self referred myself to therapy purely for a reason to leave the house and have some form of socialising activity! You are not alone 🫂😅

I feel you!
I have family back home but they’re obviously not here with me in the UK.
I do sometimes feel a sense of loneliness here as well.
I did find a lot of support from my colleagues at work.
Opening up to work colleagues who are mums or expecting has given me a lot of support.
I have mental health issues as well and found the perinatal psychiatry team super helpful. I wonder if you can ask your midwife to be referred. They have walking groups and activities as well as therapy for expecting mums.
I hope you find the support you need!
