Breast feeding and weight loss

So many people have told me breast feeding makes you loose weight. Is this true? Did you experience this?

Not in my experience. I have not lost any weight. That's fine though. God willing I have a whole rest of my life to be skinny. Right now I feed a growing human. It's chunky mom summer. No ozempic here.

I personally didn’t lose any weight, i actually gained weight. I was constantly hungry, like literally never felt satisfied. I think i gained like 25-30lbs

I didn’t have high hopes starting out, but I did lose 20lbs in 3-4 weeks

Definitely gained lots of weight due to extra hunger, in hindsight some of it was probably also thirst. I’ll see what happens second time around

I also gained weight breastfeeding

I didn't lose any baby weight til we were well into weaning at like 12 months. It did come off on its one though in the end.

Sleeping advice!

My baby sleeps overnight in her next to me in a Purflo. Shes slept in it since 3 weeks and shes now 7 weeks. I know some people dont agree with the additional items in the cot, but it helps her feel more secure in her sleep. Recently shes been wiggling down to the bottom and resting her legs on the foot of the bumper so shes in a slight frog position on her back. Shes not rolling in her sleep, shes very still in this position. This seems to massively help her with her wind and shes sleeping longer at night because of it. I've tried to research online to see if this is an unsafe position to sleep in, but all I can find is not to use any blankets or wedges because they could move around in the cot and they could end up covering their face. This wouldn't happen in this case because the Purflo won't move in the night. What's everyone's thoughts? I don't love that she sleeps like this but shes a million times more comfortable and sleeping longer because of it.

Baby has a cold

I have a toddler and thought I would have until September before the nursery illnesses returned but nope baby is two weeks and has a cold is there anything I can do to help her? She is breast fed, sounds sniffly when feeding and is coughing / gagging. She is struggling to sleep as seems in discomfort, she seemed okay today but like everything seems worse tonight. She is feeding plenty, lots of wet nappies

Nappies

UK people!

Since day one we’ve used Pampers nappies for my little girl. We tried mamia (Aldi own brand) but found they didn’t have as much padding and didn’t like the fit of them…

Has anyone found any other brand of nappy that is just as good as pampers (fit, padding, absorbency ect ect)?? My lo has quite chunky legs so need to be quite stretchy as the mamia ones seemed too tight round her legs, even with sizing up! Just trying to find if there’s any other brands to try!

Thanks!

Shallow latch

My daughter is three weeks old and we are breastfeeding, she has started to try and feed with her lips and not open when enough to get a deep latch- I take her on and off and start again but it’s beginning to become frustrating and I guess it’s mostly to do with positioning.. any tips? Or reasons you think this might be happening?

Sleep Training

My 7 week old will not sleep unless he’s held…not a problem at night but can be a bit difficult during the day because it’s sometimes hard to get things done. It’s also affecting his naps because I’m sometimes unable to hold him for a full nap and he’ll stay awake for hours during the day. Any tips on how to gradually get him to sleep independently? I use a baby carrier from time to time but it’s not always convenient
