Latching

Does your baby struggle to latch even though they’ve latched plenty of times before? What does it mean if they are fussy and it’s feeding time but they don’t want the nipple?

How old is LO? Could it be that they are overtired? Or possibly having gas issues?

Avatar

I experienced this early on with my LO, he held a lot of tension in his neck from the birth and getting into a comfy feeding position was difficult. We did go to an osteopath which helped loads and also got his tongue tie sorted (but I think that's unrelated lol), you could potentially look at changing feeding position to see if it helps?

Babies change approximately every 2 business days. Whenever my baby is a fussy it's digestive system related. Either silent reflux or gas. Is it right when you start to feed it after you start? Are they not latching at all or pulling off? Trying different positions is always a good starting point. But don't stress!! My baby is 4 months and the amount of times I spiraled for no reason should be studied. You and baby are both learning in real time so give Grace to both of you and 9.9 times out of 10 it'll be fine

Early riser

My daughter will be 8 weeks old in two days, the last few nights she’s been waking for a feed around 5-6am, then is completely wide awake afterwards and will not go back to sleep. She’s also started making grunting noises even if she seems completely happy, so I can’t get back to sleep either as she’s so loud. Any tips on how to get this wake time slightly later? She’s currently feeding around every two hours (formula fed). Thanks!🥰

Breast feeding after c section

Hi all, I had a c section a week ago and struggling to get my milk to come in, I was hoping to breast feed but I’m wondering whether my body isn’t going to be able due to having a c section, is that a thing? Has anyone else struggled with this after having a c section? Any tips or advice is welcomed!

FTM AND LOSING MY MIND

I feel like I’m losing my mind, and I honestly don’t know if it’s just the hormones or if something is actually wrong, so I’d really like some outside perspective.

I gave birth six weeks ago and had a very traumatic delivery. My daughter spent time in the NICU, and we ended up staying in the hospital for eight days. It was an incredibly stressful and emotional experience.

My family came all the way from another country to be here with me, and they’ll be staying for a month. Since giving birth, I’ve found myself becoming increasingly irritated with my mother-in-law. She comes over every single day, even if it’s only for an hour, and she constantly wants to hold the baby. She lets her fall asleep on her chest and says things like, “You’re mine.” Every day she wants to come over, and it’s starting to feel overwhelming.

Maybe she’s doing this because my family is staying with us, but I’m honestly exhausted by it. Everything she does seems to get under my skin. My parents are very respectful of both me and the baby. They give me space, support me, and let me take the lead as Porter’s mother. But when my mother-in-law is here, she always wants to take over and hold the baby.

What bothers me even more is that she seems to think I should be doing housework while she takes care of my baby. I also found out that she had considered coming over in the morning and taking the baby while I was sleeping so she could look after her. That made me incredibly angry.

I’ve been so stressed by all of this that my milk supply seems to have dropped over the last few days, and it breaks my heart that I’m dealing with this stress over my own baby.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Am I overreacting, or are these feelings normal?
