My little one she is 17 months she is having up to 5 bottles a day. We try to feed her solids first and if she would enough we would skip a bottle or give her a smaller bottle.
How did you do as this seems very lengthy and we are not being very successful so far?
Did you use a more cold turkey approach just skipping a bottle or did you cut down the quantity?
Thanks a lot!

We didn't offer bottles after ours turned one. She still loves her milk so she has a cup with her breakfast and a cup after her dinner. All toddlers are different and 17m is still young so I wouldn't stress too much, when you say she isn't eating much, how much is not much? Some of them just eat like birds and are absolutely fine. There are ways to improve calorie intake without increasing volume of food, e.g nut butters, avocado etc. In your shoes I would probably stop the bottles altogether or keep it the same every day- either offer or don't regardless of what she eats, otherwise you could be teaching her that if she doesn't eat she gets milk and she might decide that's what she wants rather than focusing on her food if that makes sense? Like she's having a negative response for eating more- more food = less milk = don't want to eat more food. At the end of the day though you know what you're comfortable with, I don't think it's the end of the world if this carries on for a while!

If she knows that not eating means she gets a bottle that's what she'll do. Then is too full from bottles to eat food so it's a vicious cycle.
I'd go cold turkey off the bottles.

By that age she *should* be having 3 solid meals a day + snacks, so squeezing 5 bottles around those would mean she’s eating a lot throughout the day! What’s your current routine with bottles/meals snacks? X

Same boat - nursery have cut her milk out altogether but I'm a soft soul and still offer her regularly -i figure it'll happen and I'm naturally dropping how much I make as time goes on (my LO is coming up to 17 months too) - ive found reducing the bottle size I offer her has helped (purposefully only offering 3 or 4oz instead of 6 or 7, as well as pointedly only making them first thing, last thing and then if she's struggling to nap
