I love being a mum and waited for it but I feel panicked about not having things together yet which I didn't have everything before baby although we are financially stable. However, maybe because we were going to get a mortgage and we've had to put things on hold is why I feel like this and wanting to try and buy a car before baby but I also felt like due to my age (late 30s) I didn't want to chance waiting any longer. Also, I just feel different. I hate my stomach as it goes down and then bloats for days and weeks and I see other mums with their flat stomachs postpartum like wth and I just feel different. Not like myself. I don't know who I am outside of being a mum. I return to work in 2 months so maybe being able to use my brain in a different way and be with other adults will help as I feel lonely. Partner has his own issues but when he's on form he is great. Also I just started my period and feeling crappy so maybe that's why I'm feeling like this. Maybe I need to eat icecream and drink wine and go lie down whilst father and son are having their time ey lol

I get it. I was in my 30s when I had my son which is older than a lot of first time moms, but I wasn't financially stable or in a good relationship. I just didn't want to miss my chance due to some concerns with health issues in the past. It's definitely hard. Being an older first time mom I feel like I should have prepared more for him but I'm growing with him. I just got my first car and my license a few months ago and I haven't given up the dream of a house yet. Also hormones after birth are crazy so definitely rest when you can!
