Hello,
So I just wanted to share my experience with my first baby 8 months old to be tomorrow.
Every time I would post in here asking about ‘creating habits’ or ‘should I or not’ , I have been told ‘yes it’s normal’, ‘comfort your baby’, ‘why are you surprised, do what baby needs’, bla bla bla
So even though at the end of the day it’s us making the decisions, we still very often listening to people who have more experience than us 🤷♀️ that’s the truth.
My point is, I’ve listened so many times to other mothers here (telling me off almost 🙈) saying ‘it’s normal’ when actually no, it is not normal. Maybe other mothers are okay with their babies not sleeping through the night until they are 3 years old. Yeah, good for you. But if you can do something so baby actually sleep through then why wouldn’t you??
Putting hand on baby chest - hearing from other moms here ‘comfort the baby’, ‘baby need you, you are not creating bad habits, why needing you it’s creating bad habit??’ - yeah, cool. My baby got used to my hand and had very difficult time to change it later. Thanks for the advise! 🙏😅
Feeding to sleep and at night - no issue, baby need it! No bad habit. Really?? Baby eating over 1L of formula during the day and 3 big meals and you still telling me it’s not creating habit feeding to sleep for baby then waking up at night and not being able to put baby back to sleep without a bottle 🙈
There is more….. (dummy, baby sleeping in baby carrier, sleeping bag etc)
I just want to say what I decided to do and stopped listening to some of these smart mothers that think everything it’s normal and almost telling off us, FTM’s here.
I have started weaning my baby from one bottle at night. Yes, only one night. But I knew he didn’t need this food! (Yeah yeah, they would say if baby wakes up means needs it 🙈). On top of that I stopped feeding to sleep. First 5 days no difference… but now?? Baby sleeping through the night 11 hours
I only regret I didn’t listen to my gut earlier. Should have done these both things earlier. I have created so many bad habits because I been told ‘you are not creating bad habits’
For all the FTM moms out here. If you think you are creating a bad habit , you probably are. Not worth asking here. Just go with what you think is best and stop listening to other moms especially the ones who think they know better (it’s easy to see in comments which mothers are the ‘smart ones’)
Peace 🙏😅

I don’t understand the mum shaming here? If you’ve asked for Advice & other people’s POV then why go on to say the response is incorrect?
All babies are different and all people can do is give you their POV and how things have gone for them. Whether you choose to go with it is up to you.
I understand some mums can be quite degrading and making you feel bad, but I feel that stating that what other mums chose to do (In your opinion, create bad habits) isn’t any different. Each to their own I say.
If you dropping your baby’s 1 feed during the night has worked then brilliant, but some mums wouldn’t be comfortable doing this as they know their baby’s the best and for some baby’s this could be detrimental.

Looool damn why u going so hard for other mothers, you are the one that chose to follow the advice of peanut mothers to a T. Chill out luv

Who's being a smart ass now 🙄
