Mamas, I’m 4 months postpartum and exclusively breastfeeding.
My breasts have gone so soft, and now I’m paranoid that it means I’m not making enough milk. 😭 Has anyone else experienced this?
I also want to start pumping so I have milk for when I go out, but I’m scared I’ll be taking away the milk my baby needs.
I’m probably overthinking, but I’m so worried that she’s not getting enough. She seems absolutely fine though she has plenty of wet nappies, is feeding well, and seems content. I just can’t stop worrying.
Has anyone been through this or got any reassurance? ❤️

Very normal. Your supply regulates and your boobs don’t get as engorged as they create what baby needs instead of excessive amounts. Majority of people essentially start with an oversupply until your body learns how much baby needs.
If baby is doing long stretches overnight, could you pump then? You only need a small amount to start, as you would pump whilst you’re out to replace the feed. So you would also replace the milk that has been used

This has happened to me as well! Hope that gives you some reassurance. As long as your baby is happy after a feed I’d assume you’re making enough

Mine is the same :) as above, it’s totally normal and just means that your supply has regulated! As long as they’re having dirty/wet nappies and gaining weight then no worries! Xx

So normal, mine does this unless I’ve gone 5+ hours without removal. It’s just because your supply is regulated. I bet if you didn’t remove for ages you’d be engorged!
Focus on babies fullness signs and nappies as well as weight. That’s the main giveaway.
As for expressing, it’s worth doing IMO. I BF every feed / 3 hourly then she gets a bottle before bed and I express around 8-9pm so I’ve got milk for her bottle the next day xx

Soft boobs are happy boobs!
