Hi mamas has anyone done a C section but with General anaesthetic due to anxiety and panic attacks? Or just general? Any positive experiences ? Im scared

I don’t think the NHS will perform one electively under general anaesthetic because of increased risks and will only do so in a medical emergency. I had my first one under spinal block though and it was great! Just tell them you’re anxious and they can give you added meds like anti sickness etc

My first was emergency under general but my second I was awake elected. I’ll be honest I hated the fact I was asleep for my first baby. Didn’t get that euphoric moment, didn’t meet her for over an hour then for hours after I didn’t believe she was mine 🥴 kept saying they’d given me someone else’s baby 🫣 if I’d had the choice I’d never have chosen to.
It’s scary awake but you feel no pain and the feeling you get when you see your baby straight away makes you forget everything else happening 💜
