OK so my son is 7, I got fuc**** AMBUSHED tonight by my parents because of the way I’m raising my son, he can be sarcastic he can joke he can be serious he knows everything he’s such a smart kid! But they keep saying the way I’m raising him he’s gone get beat up because he’s “sensitive “ or “ feminine” like… I just don’t understand they made me feel like absolute 💩. Keep in mind he didn’t have a father figure in his life till he was 4 so he’s always been raised by women so he still knows the “ feminine” ways you know? My parents made me feel like I wasn’t raising my baby boy right… ☹️ I don’t know what to do.

What’s wrong with sensitive boys growing up to be sensible men? Most of the men in our generation are emotionally immature. So you are doing the next generation a big favor by breaking the toxic masculinity cycle! You are doing the right thing and being a good mother. Grandparents are just entitled. They think unsolicited advice is helping. So do not take their words personally. One ear in and the other ear out.

It’s sadly the mindset of a lot of the older generation that boys should be these loud and constantly dirty creatures playing with trucks and fake guns and if they’re not like that, we’re doing something wrong raising them. My parents made a lot of similar remarks about my oldest son when I was raising him as a single mom (also until he was 4) saying that he’d get bullied or that he was “too much like a girl” because he’s well spoken, not into getting dirty and has a strong sense of what it means to be empathetic.
At the end of the day, that’s your kid and their opinions don’t matter when it comes to how you raise him. I’m sure you’re doing a great job and he’ll turn out just fine. My parents were totally wrong about my kid, he’s actually turned out to be really popular in school and he got that way by being nice and helpful to other kids.

How I feel is that no one is perfect and just one person taking care of him and it’s hard who are they to judge tho I bet they weren’t perfect parents either and it’s good that he can express himself they probably stuck on there generation it a new generation things has changed since then not letting your kid joke and stuff he’ll probably think he can’t be himself so I feel like u doing a good job and don’t let anyone tell u different stay young girl 🤍

Baby girl! Who cares what they think, that’s your SON!! Unless he came out of your parent’s body, then they get to control how he should be raised.
They can advise you but it’s up to you to take what advice you think is good for your son! You’re with him 24hours everyday. We have to start telling our parents, that they are the grandparents and not the parents. They have limitations.
It sounds like you’re raising a wonderful and smart boy, it’s not easy to try and raise a boy especially on your own as a woman. I would recommend trying to find some books on raising boys, as they really do help. As my goal is to raise my son to be a wonderful gentleman man but also to be less feminine but obviously to respect , care and love women and to be emotionally mature.
You’re doing an amazing job, don’t let your parents put you down!!

I know sensitive boys who grew up with a father. Some children /men are like that.
Are they even involved? Tell your family that they could be more supportive and involved in his care, in that way he gets to be raised by different adults. A male figure can also be a grandad.

This is awful behaviour from them. Who says THEY get to decide or tell you how to raise your son.
Personally, I would explain to them that they have crossed a boundary in your eyes, by telling you how to raise your children and that you need some space from them otherwise a longer lasting argument could easily arise.
Hold your head up high that you're raising a human that will be emotionally stable and intelligent, which it sounds like they ARE NOT!
