I’m breastfeeding but ice packs usually help me with engorgement so I think they’ll probably help you with the pain

Feed your baby if you can as they’ll help to reduce the pressure in your boobs most efficiently, but if you can’t or don’t want to, hand express (squeeze) your boobs’ milk into a cup to relieve the pressure on your boobs. It won’t affect your future supply, but you do just need to let some of the pressure out right now. You can feed that to your baby with a colostrum syringe if you have one, or from a little sterile cup (though it’ll go everywhere). Put bags of frozen peas on your boobs to stop them hurting quite so much, and ibuprofen is safe to take. Wear no bra or the biggest one you have - don’t strap them in too tight at the moment or they’ll get even more uncomfortable. My nipples also hurt so much when my milk came in and I got silver nipple covers (covers, not shields) off Amazon which I’m still using weeks later and have saved me. It’s incredibly painful but it’s over in 36 hours or so. Also you’ll just leak everywhere for a few days.
