Future kid on the news?

Ok y’all I hope my emotional brain is telling me some bad information!
My logic brain is quietly saying “nooooooo???”

My anxiety brain is telling me that my 14 month old
* Biting me until I bruise
* RUNNNING to bite EVERYONES toes
* pulling my hair and my husbands hair like he has a CLUMP of hair in his hand
* ripping off my glasses and immediately putting them in his mouth to lick them

I’m saying no firmly no smiles or anything.

He is DYING LAUGHING.

Is he going to grow up and hurt others?

Nope not at all!

I promise you this is totally age appropriate behaviour. He is just a baby! He doesn't even understand he can hurt you! He doesn't even understand that other people exist and have thoughts and feelings!

He will grow out of it

Lmfao no human ever was born knowing to not try to put things in their mouths. No human ever randomly one day decided “no more non food items in my mouth”, we were all once 14 month olds that wanted to see how everything felt in our mouths. The adults around us taught us different ways to explore the world instead of through our mouths.

Same can be said for being too rough with our hands.
When we were little kids, everybody told us we were tiny and little, we literally did not know our own strength until we grew up.

You’ve got a small human in the making, not a serial killer or toe licker,

Sound like a normal 14m kid

Very common in babies this age, but sorry to say, you should’ve started nipping it in the bud about a year ago. I get started from that first hair pulling around 4m. We all know it’s perfectly healthy & natural to sensory seek, but that doesn’t mean I have to tolerate being pulled, pinched & bit, so I get them used to the fact if they play mean, I will quit playing & walk away from anyone who treats me badly, including them. When they’re really little I put them down w/an ideal item to harass, but no matter the age I say something like “mommy doesn’t have to play/hang out w/people who are mean/unfair to her”, “nice hands” is only a reminder beforehand around here, dad & brudder do the same. The real good part, I’ve gotten to witness both of my kids walking away from mean kids to play w/nice ones by the time they were 2yo & still 2yrs away from being verbal. Now this isn’t to say they don’t rough house play, they just make sure they ask first & still don’t try to hurt anyone.

No one warns people about the stage between newborn and terrible twos. It's literally the most loving form of hell. I don't even know how to describe it fr.

Anyways, it's normal and the doctors count mouthing as a milestone so you are okay. Good luck and bless you. We are all here to talk if you need.

Mine just turned two 😅. You got this

12 month development

Hi guy, wanting some help/advice. I have a 12 month old son. He hasn’t such much yet only dada and up but with no intention/context. He hasn’t clapped/pointed yet. He does understand so much, waves, high fives and shakes hand. Any advice or if someone related to this before? Thank you so much. Worried mom here.

Routine or routine less

Ladies, those with 6/7week olds… what are your days currently looking like?

My little boy is 7 weeks on Wed, and every day is different… bar the wake up at 6am and “bed time” at 9pm (he’s asleep long before this but that’s when I take him up to bed with me and get him in his swaddle). He will then sleep for 3/3.30 hours from 9pm onwards, but hourly after that until 6am. We are very much just winging it with daytime naps and he fights them in the afternoon. He’ll often go for 6 hours awake 🥵🫠

Just interested to see what others days look like.

My baby is 15 weeks old. He obviously sleeps in the next to me at night. But what do yous do when putting your baby to bed? Do yous just take them up with you when you’re going to bed or do you put them to bed and watch on the camera ?

Nappy brands?

Best nappies out there?
Was using aldi size 2, but moved to fred & flo which seem to hold pee better.
Using last of aldi we have, but seems an awkward fit and has caused friction burn.

Absorption pattern seems to change in size 3 fred & flo so wondering if baby will leak through them as well!

Baby boy is 12lb 5 for ref.

Thanks!
