I've had a horrific experience giving birth in my local hospital.
I wanted elective c-section, I was emotionally pressured by medical professionals to try natural birth.
On the day my waters broke early in the morning and I was already having active contractions, maternity unit on the phone told me to "try paracetamol and stay at home until I really can't take it anymore" . Bare in mind I was already kneeling on the floor wailing in pain 🙄 called them again and just said we will be arriving. Long story short...Ended up in further 12h of sheer agony with not even morphine or fentanyl touching it. First of all I wasn't even informed I was being given fentanyl. After hours of long wait, I was eventually assigned a room where I was meant to give birth. That was so dusty and dirty and floors/walls still had blood smidgens from someone else that had their baby there 🫣 Our girl was born with severe brain and cardiac issues which were NOT picked up on scans. We have an ongoing investigation and dispute with them.

Plus... I ended up having emergency c-section because I was stuck at 6cm. All my birth plan wishes, questions and worries were utterly ignored. Also, my local hospital was on the news because of the severe shortcomings at their maternity unit. CQC rating inadequate, tells me everything I need to know.

I didn’t complain about my birth experience but I complained about how they dealt with us when my baby went in a day old with jaundice. And the answer was more than disappointing. I fell like they took no responsibility whatsoever and took what they wanted to apologise for and dismissed the rest

I had an absolutely awful pregnancy and birth experience with my second daughter, shes nearly 8 months. I was ignored throughout the whole pregnancy, they told me 3 times I didnt have group B strep when I did, they lost my blood test results numerous times without explanation and they cancelled appointments without telling me and only told me when I turned up to them.

Then I gave birth to my daughter, I lost 1.5 litres of blood because she came out really fast (born in 2 and half hours) the midwife laughed at me when I was pushing because I had back to back labour and was in agony even though my pain threshold is quite high.

I had postnatal depression after she was born. Complained to all the midwives throughout and I cried frequently at appointments and nothing was done. I sent a PALS complaint through before she was born and afterwards too because so much happened and they were both ignored. I've never had a reply. Even though with all the blood loss, I had to go to theatre to have blood clots taken out

Same here—my labour progressed really quickly where I was in agony and they didn’t believe me and offered a birthing ball and paracetamol. They kept telling me they would give me an epidural but never did because there wasn’t time and it was awful. My partner was sent home and had to come back and I wouldn’t have survived it without him. We wanted to book a private room in the hospital for the morning but it was totally full so I was meant to stay in the bay and just sit there and I hadn’t slept for 2 days. When I asked to go home there was a 12 hour process of them preventing us where at one point we tried to walk out and security guards physically prevented my partner from leaving the hospital. It was absolutely awful, but as much as we swore we would sue the f out of that hospital, we just moved on and never did anything about it. Definitely happy to join forces if you need support in this regard.

Induction at 37 weeks

I understand every pregnancy is different, but I’m curious. For those who were induced at 37 weeks, what was your experience like and how long did it take? This is my second pregnancy, my first induction was at 40 weeks, and my body was a lot more ready to go, so he came out fairly quickly. We will be induced in a couple days, my cervix is at zero, and only 20% effaced but he is at least pretty far down. 😅

We have discussed the possibility of needing a C-section and my C-section unfortunately would have to be completely under sedation as I cannot get any form of epidural or spinal.

First c-section.. unplanned

Hey mamas

I just had an emergency c-section and now I’m at home struggling how to get out of bed and not use my abdomen, sitting or laying back on the couch to put baby to sleep and struggling to get up without help.

Any tips?.. or things you mamas have used that helps with healing?

I’m terrified of tearing the wound open or not healing properly.. :/

My mil doesn't know I'm pregnant but she suspects it

So I am 5 weeks pregnant (found out Friday) and we have not told many people, especially my mil cause she doesn't like me very much and I wanna enjoy my pregnancy. However she does suspect I'm pregnant because I stopped smoking and we keep telling her I'm not. It's driving her crazy and I kind of find it funny lol
