First c-section.. unplanned

Hey mamas

I just had an emergency c-section and now I’m at home struggling how to get out of bed and not use my abdomen, sitting or laying back on the couch to put baby to sleep and struggling to get up without help.

Any tips?.. or things you mamas have used that helps with healing?

I’m terrified of tearing the wound open or not healing properly.. :/

I slept downstairs for the first 4 nights and used my pregnancy pillow to prop myself up, thats the most comfortable I could get but I couldn’t lay down until about 7-10 days post op and even then was so hard to sit up. Ask for help if you need it, I didn’t and made it so much worse x

Try rolling first on the side and drop your legs just like when you were pregnant, also it's a good thing to hold like a small pillow/towel across the wound when you're standing/sneezing/using toilet with n2.

Feel free to message me! Also had an emergency c section 🫶🏻 here for ya!

Did they mention the pillow trick to you? That helped me. I also would position myself on the couch or lounger closest to the arm so I could use it and mostly my upper body to pull myself up. The belly binder also helped give me more structure to use to sit up. The padsicles for vaginal births, when staying laying down for awhile, I’d put that across the DRY wound. Then heating pad under my back. DEFINITELY keep moving once you do get up. Gas X and stool softener was my best friend too.

I honestly had the worst first two weeks of my life. Had to go back to the hospital twice because the pain was unmanageable. All I can say is Try as much to support yourself using your elbows and arms when getting up and it’s also much easier when you have someone supporting you. Just know…….it will get better

So for my first i rolled around and used a cane with this baby I bought a ice pack belly binder and compression shorts and compression taanks that are breastfeeding friendly it helped wonders. Also ik alot of people will say rest let everyone else do it but its not always the case move as you can tolerate. Im currently 3 weeks pp

After 6 days depending what stitches you got you can try using silicone scar plasters as well, consult gp if needed x

I would recommend the rolling technique for getting out of bed. Move on to your side first and then try sitting up. Also, I’m not sure how high your bed is but if you’re having trouble also climbing in it may be worth it to invest in a step stool. As for the couch, try scooting to the edge and then bracing your incision with a pillow or blanket as you stand up. You could also look into getting a belly binder. In regards to healing do you mean for your scar or more generally? I’ve seen a lot of people recommend silicone get sheets and mederma scar cream or bio oil

Induction at 37 weeks

I understand every pregnancy is different, but I’m curious. For those who were induced at 37 weeks, what was your experience like and how long did it take? This is my second pregnancy, my first induction was at 40 weeks, and my body was a lot more ready to go, so he came out fairly quickly. We will be induced in a couple days, my cervix is at zero, and only 20% effaced but he is at least pretty far down. 😅

We have discussed the possibility of needing a C-section and my C-section unfortunately would have to be completely under sedation as I cannot get any form of epidural or spinal.

Does pain ever override your other senses?

Chronic pain / chronic illness girlies what’s upppp

Ok so I was at a wedding of my very close friends at a farm this past weekend my son was in the wedding as the flower boy all super cute but that means we were there for the rehearsal dinner and drinks, the wedding day was busy of course, and then the next day my husband helped with take down of tables etc and we had to go pick up our car. Luckily we had help from grandparents so we could enjoy our time

ANYWHOOOO

I overdid it so badly because I hate making other peoples life events about me and my pain. Like could barely walk for 2 days after kinds of pain. So only now a few days later do I realize I’m legit covered in bug bites from the farm on my legs. And they’re so itchy and annoying and my family is like how are you only noticing days later I’m like guys my pain was overriding my other senses I didn’t notice because my body was so focused on the pain. And that was very confusing for them. Do you guys know what I’m talking about ??

Painful joints

I'm 12 weeks pp, and when I wake up in the morning, or just before I go to bed at night my joints hurt so much! Particularly in my ankles, knees and hips!

I'm 33 but feel much older! Anyone else feeling this or should I get this investigated? 👀
