Nursery age

What age did everyone put their lo in nursery and do you recommend that age? Or if you’ve had multiple children starting at different ages which worked best?

12 weeks because the US has horrific parental leave policies. I would def recommend older than that. It was really hard. I miss her so much even now and she’s 18 months

I don't have a lot of samples, but from our experience, I'd say around 2 years old is a good time. They start to be more sociable and would tell parents what happened in nursery that day and who they played with.
2-3 times a week would good. They should still spend most time with their carers.

My boy went from 2 only a couple of mornings a week and came on so much since he started and absolutely loves it!

He goes when I work so 3 days a week. He’s now 19 months now and he absolutely loves going and socialising with the other children x

Mine’s going when he’s 18 months and I’m not sure if it’s better to do it when they are younger/ less aware?! No idea!

My first started when he was a month shy of 2. It was really hard working and finding child care. I had to keep calling in or asking to switch shifts. I even had to take a month off as my MIL could only stay for a certain amount of months due to her visa. My parents also live about 3hr (1.5 on a good day) away.
My daughter will take my son's spot as he's going to JK in September. She will be 15 months.

I'll know then which is better. But emotionally, no age is ideal, lol.

My daughter started at 9 months and did 2 mornings (7.30am till 1pm). We upped her hours in September to 2 full days (7.30am till 6.30pm but she gets collected at 5.30pm)
We get the 30hrs a week, but because she is in throughout the whole year it works out at 22hrs a week. We only pay for her breakfasts, lunches and teas.

My little girl started at 9 months and now she’s 2 and does 2 mornings a week 7.30-1, she’s at the same nursery I work at and she gets funded hours but pay £10.50 a morning for her funded session and then money on top for her breakfast, snacks and lunches xx
