Just started our potty training journey with my little boy. 1st day at home no nappy just naked, potty in the living room and downstairs toilet has a seat and step for him. Must say first day only a couple accidents and using the potty for wee’s and toilet once for a wee. On the second day and we’re doing everything the same, but I notice him saying ‘do bum’ which means he wants a nappy on and I think it’s because he needs a poo & is holding it in. He does sometimes likes to hide when he does a poo when he had a nappy on! What can we do to help encourage him to poo on the potty or toilet? Appreciate it is only his second day and I’m so pleased with how he’s taken to it already, any ideas or advice would be brilliant 😋

Our 3 year old use to hide to do poos too so when it came to the potty he wanted it in the corner of the room and for us not to look. After we moved it he got so much better. Even now he’ll ask us to sit outside the bathroom while he’s on the toilet.

My oldest is the same age, we spent the week same as you where he’d be naked and the first few days I would periodically check in with him and take him to the toilet, even if he just sat on the toilet and got back up again until eventually he just started taking himself. Poos did take a few days longer than wees as I think it’s a bit more uncomfortable for them but once he’d done it once that was that!
Fingers crossed it all goes smooth for you! Sounds like you’re doing a great job 👏🏼 x

I did the naked method and my son chose a stool attachment for the regular toilet. That got him to poo on the toilet. He had his own privacy
It comes with time too. By day 4 he was pooing on the toilet.
