So my daughter has been at the same nursery since she was 11 months old (now 3) and it’s an absolutely brilliant setting and has been since she started, her older sister left last year for primary school and when the preschool kids left, so did some of the staff (one went on mat leave and another retired) so they’ve had a reshuffle of staff and obviously taken on new staff… we recently got letters to say that my daughters key person was changing to a new person (for the sake of this I’ll call them Jenna).
It’s a very rare name and idk how I didn’t catch on to it being the same person because I had just forgotten she existed for the last 10 years but I dropped my little girl off on Monday morning and lo and behold, it’s the girl who terrorised me for 5 years straight in high school. And I’m not just talking your basic name calling, I mean like actively attacking me on the way home essentially daily for years, telling me to SH and started countless rumours about me being a boy because I was flat chested amongst other things 💀
I recognised her straight away and as soon as I said something about my little girl, she looked at me and asked if she knew me because she recognised me 💀 i just stood there like… ummm, maybe we went to school together but otherwise idk? Idk I panicked 😂 obviously she didn’t say anything but I was just stood there like 👀 so now I’m sort of in a weird limbo of never mentioning it because that would be stupidly awkward and just sort of saying I recognise her and getting it over with because I have to see this woman every day now until my daughter goes to primary school and I just cba 😭💀
Has anyone dealt with this before and what did you do 💀

Id 100% tell the nursery thay there is a conflict in interest and that you'd like to change your daughters key person. Annoying enough that you'll have to still see her but I wouldn't feel comfortable with her being the key person

I would be completely honest and tell her you know exactly who she is and why. I would also do what Romina has suggested (and explain to them why) to make sure she isn't anything to do with my little girl.
