We have a 17 month old. At his clinic they said by 18 months he should have at least 20 words. He doesn’t. Everything is either daddy or he points and moans to what he wants. Should I be worried?

Every child is different, some take longer than others when it comes to talking, crawling and walking. I wouldn't worry to much hun, just keep working with him on words and he will get it

My son is 2.5 says some words but doesn’t do complete sentences. I must say in the last few months he has been saying more.

I am a nanny (childminder) and the little boy I look after is 3 in September and has a delay in speaking but my goodness the last 3 months words have been coming out of his mouth left right and centre!!
Please don’t worry yourself if he isn’t doing exactly what is recommended at exactly that time. Children are all different there isn’t any right or wrong! Sometimes children get there quick and some need time
Lots of talking, singing and reading and he’ll start to take :-)

It can't hurt to have him seen by a speech therapist just do the evaulation with them if no concerns great keep working with him at home. Or get him started early intervention is better then late

Haha my son is 18m and says “daddy” but whispers it lol and he says “ba” for ball. Other than that it’s all babbles and I truly am not worried. Every kid progresses and advances at their own pace.
