1 week old starting to stay awake for 2 hours

My 1 week old has started to stay awake for 2 hours sometimes and I really struggling to put her to sleep. She used to feed to sleep but now sometimes wakes up before i can get her down in her cot. Is anyone else having the same issue? Should I just let her stay awake that long? I just thought that was a way too big awake window for a newborn?

I’m having the same issue with my 3 week old, he can be awake for 4 hours and no amount of rocking or soothing will settle him to sleep

For a while I was doing contact naps (holding him while he sleeps) as letting my little one stay awake too long causes him to get stressed out. Now he is a little older he sleeps by himself with minimal issues (still wakes up before I put him down sometimes).

My main priority was his rest and feeding, but everyone’s situations are different (multiple children etc).

It can be really hard figuring out what works for your little one, especially while they’re so so young are so accustomed to being in a stable environment (your womb) that any changes in the early parts of their sleep can wake them so easily.

Have you tried swaddling? (Waiting for their limp arms then) putting them down bum first then feet then body to reduce startling? Wearing their bedsheets in your T-shirt or expressing some milk onto it so it smells like you. Just a few things I tried ☺️☺️☺️

So up until yesterday I was able to feed her to sleep during the day and she would let me put her down in the cot but sincr yesterday she seems to end up waking up after her feed and then staying awake for ages and getting really overtired, her face and eyes get really red so I know shes definitely tired but she doesnt cry or fuss. This evening its now taken me an hour to try get her down to sleep.

Talking

We have a 17 month old. At his clinic they said by 18 months he should have at least 20 words. He doesn’t. Everything is either daddy or he points and moans to what he wants. Should I be worried?

How many words is it normal for a 15 month old to say?

A family member made a negative comment about the number of worlds my baby can say at this age.

Does losing weight mean losing my milk supply slowly?

I’ve been going Gym for the last 4 to 5 weeks and I’ve noticed the change of my milk supply. I’m drinking plenty of water and I’m eating foods but less I’m taking the food I’m eating because I’ve changed my diet. Yeah she’s still drinking which is good, but I feel like I’ve been giving her more formula than breastmilk, which I don’t want.

12h under 12 weeks & breastfeeding

Hey! My baby is 6 weeks and breastfeeding. She eats every 2h during the day and 3h at night (I feed her whenever she asks so we don’t really have a schedule). Naturally we’re not sleeping much due to her feeding schedule and her really bad reflux so we were recommended to try the 12hours under 12 weeks book/technique. Has anyone done this and do you think its compatible with a breastfed baby?
