The famous 6-8 weeks!

Wondering if anybody can offer me some words of comfort… currently week 7 and 2 days and I feel like we’ve been in the thick of the developmental phase for what feels like forever!
Fussiness/distraction/crying and wind during feeds, the witching hours, barely sleeping at night, really struggling with day time naps you name it!

Can anybody offer their experience with this and when did it get better? I’m surging with just 2 hours of sleep for the last couple of weeks and between and my partner who works full time, I don’t know how much longer I will cope (obviously I will, I will have to) but anything to suggest that it could pass soon and we can finally start establishing some sort of routine and longer stretches at night?!
We can never seem to get past the 2 hour mark in the crib and hope that as this phase passes, we’ll see those longer stretches!

Also… has anybody got a oarticular routine they try to follow daily with feeds/naps/playtime/bedtime routine that seems to be working for them? So far we’re just winging it and I think that’s not helping.

Ive been there and i know exactly what you mean. It feels the cycle is endless. But trust me it will end and everything will just be a blur and you will forget about it.

What we did was, getting us into the routine( not the baby) but me and my husband. We increase the feed per oz then from 2hrs it became every 3hrs, also we go outside as much as possible. It doesnt matter how long it was. Also, we used infacol, dentinox and gripe water as my bub had colic before. We changed milk formula as well. What else, we also bath my bub everyday as it become a routine for us. Until around 12-15 weeks we see changes, less fussiness, no more colic its just like new baby. Well she still waking up every 3-4hrs but its much better. Now my girl is 10months old. All the sufferings( lol) now forgotten and just enjoying one day at a time. I know its hard but trust me it will pass. Always remember your doing a good job!

I feel you!! I felt exactly the same! Week 9 everything turned a corner for us, it went on for ages and we really expected it to be over much quicker! But week 9 onwards she was a dream, suddenly sleeping 5 hour stretches at night and a much earlier bedtime of around 8pm! It has been so much easier since then x

My little one is 9 weeks and 5 days and we can already see a bit of a difference. I try to stay on top of wake windows as much as possible during the day and feed him on demand. If I miss a wake window, we've got a grumpy baby for a while after! Wind issues are also getting better. We now get certain days with no issues and it is amazing. Those days are my favorite as my boy is happy and awake, no crying.
He currently sleeps roughly from 9:30pm to 5am and then to 8am.

Hang in there, it does get better! 😊

Hey, I feel you! The last 2 nights, I've put my t-shirt in the next to me cot as a fitted sheet and my baby has slept for 5 hour stretches. I did this and played white noise x

Thanks in advance

Not the place to ask I understand but is there anyone who can please help with nappies or food until contacted by my baby bank referral? Shouldn't be too long now and I can happily repay when I next can x

Am i crazy?

So baby is 5 months old.. still in the next to me, unfortunately her cot doesnt fit in our room so now i am debating buying a “space saver cot” which would allow us to have her with us for longer?
She is the only baby , not planning anymore either and she sleeps through the night since day 1 so she is no trouble at all!
Am i just being crazy in here ? 😅 just feel like i am not ready for my baby girl to go to her own room yet.
Anyone else with the same issue?

What happened to my sweet boy

My baby was the best sleeper since 2 months old. 7:30pm- 6:30am every night without waking. Weaving started out great too - happy to try everything but now at almost 8months he’s a different child. Refuses any and all foods - even ones he loved, and his sleep is a mess. Goes down at 7:30 but sometimes wakes up after 30 minutes and won’t go back down until 10, wakes up panicking a throughout the night and can’t seem to settle for the rest of the tonight and is awake from 5am. I don’t know what’s happened to make these changes but I want my old baby back 😭 what can I do to settle his nights and get him to enjoy weaning again? I’m beyond exhausted and at my whits end at this point.

Confused mummy

My baby will be 18months old in a few days, and she is still nursing(breastfeeeding). My plan is to stop nursing her at 20months. My husband wants her to start nursery in a month’s time but i have mixed feelings about it as i work from home with one day away from home.
She has never had bottled milk but she uses sippy cups or a normal cup quite well to drink her water.
Please advise on how to go about weaning her and the nursery bit ( is it a good idea or it it too early for her?)
Thanks

Mental abuse for a parent

I'm in my 40s and pregnant, for the first time. At the moment, I have nowhere to go so I moved in with my Dad. He has told me to get rid of the baby, told me I'm a whore because even though I'm separated from my legal husband, I'm pregnant with someone else's kid. Constantly tells me he doesn't care if I eat or if I'm sick and to keep it to myself. Etc..... so I have been trying to not bother him and do my own thing but he still says horrible things and puts me down all the time. He says I'm like my Mom and how horrible she is. It's constant verbal abuse. I'm trying so hard to not let it stress me out but how can I fix this or not let it effect my baby or myself anymore? I'm on the waiting list for section 8 but I'm also disabled and can't work ATM. I have tried talking it out with him but the more I beg him or ask him what is the problem? I get worse back. What would you do?
