Toddler keeps giving himself an erect!on

I genuinely don’t know what to do about this behavior. First time I noticed it I was giving him a bath and he grabbed a brush, brushed his booty and his little thing went straight up and he thought it was funny.

Obviously I took it away but he’s gotten more creative, he uses other brushes he finds, ice cubes (that he’s always loved to play with), his finger, ect.

He’s noticed we don’t like this behavior and will stop it so he will go to the other room and take off his diaper to do it and then laugh when he gets caught.

I don’t want to traumatize him about his own body and I understand it’s him being curious and not understanding but he has done it so often since finding out he can and it’s relentless about it.

I put clothes on him to but he’ll take them off and if I catch him taking it off he runs away laughing and hides and I’m 6 months pregnant so chasing him is hard

Anyone have any ideas I could get him to stop? Or anyone know why he’s doing this? It’s really bothering me.

This is a very much boy thing. His age is a big determinating factor to how inappropriate this action is. If he's doing it in public that's an obvious no thing. In his own home where he's comfortable is an average situation. It did surprise me when I found out how often erections happen like throughout each day ever since my son was newborn phase and currently just turned 3. I tell my son he can do that if he's in his room or the bathroom alone. Still a learning thing given his age. Please keep in mind that impulse control isn't fully developed to a child is about 8 years old but definitely learning is part of it.

Sounds harmless, and if you stop giving him attention for it, it is something he's likely to outgrow. I'd probably just ignore it.

My boy (nearly 3) loves to play with his penis too. And he does try to put lots of different things against it, anything from clothings items to his toys. I personally think it’s a natural exploration and sensory/feel good thing and I don’t dismiss it nor stop it (a gentle redirect at times especially if I’m cleaning a nappy).

I’d be less inclined to stop it, allow him time and space to explore his body, and perhaps ask yourself why you’re uncomfortable with it?

Your projecting dislike onto him for it so he’s using that as a way to rebel. It feels nice to him so the end result could be shame in something that’s natural?

Have you tried explaining how his body works to him and that his penis is a private area? So he gets an idea of what behaviour is appropriate for when he’s in his bedroom vs outside around the rest of the home and outside etc?

Pacifiers? I didn’t want to start since I don’t want her to stay dependent on it.

I’ve managed to not used one so far but it’s getting hard not too since the four month sleep regression has started and my husband is against it…

Breastfeeding and weight loss

Has anyone noticed breastfeeding has made them lose weight?

If so, how long did you breastfeed for and how often each day?

Maid of Honour drama!!

So in October, before I found out I was pregnant I asked my then closest friend to be my maid of honour at my wedding(which was going to be in March). I then found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks later and ever since then she literally started AIRING me and downright stopped talking to me basically. She has a box full of a bunch of art materials of mine that I kept asking to get and she would say that she was busy and for me to get it another time. There’s a lot more about how she treated me when I was pregnant but it’s just too much to write up.

So I obviously no longer want this person at my wedding let alone being my maid of honour and have been wanting to ask to get the things I gave her when I asked her to be my maid of honour when I do get my box of things as it would be so much more hassle to try replace every single item that I handpicked and bought for my maid of honour and bridesmaids but have not been sure what to say and been so scared of how she will react or what she will say to me or even how to approach it.

Advice please!!!

6-8 week regression (HELP)

My baby just turned 7 weeks today but for the past 3 days now REFUSES to sleep during the day. She will just cry and cry unless held. She does go for a long stretch at night which helps but i cant seem to get anything done in the house let alone feed myself. She did go through 2 days last week where she slept loads, and now this has come out of no where. Anyone else in the same boat, and will it get easier? How long is this going to last!!
