Nappies

This is my opinion on nappies that I thought may be good to do for expecting Mums (uk version)

Mamia (Aldi) awesome cheap and rlly good
Pampers good have no complaints only purchase these if we’ve ran out of them when out and about just on expensive side
I’ve forgot make of the Lidl ones but the ones that begin with L I’ve honestly never ever had a good experience with these my baby’s nappy leaks every night when wearing them

Stopping sterilising

My son is almost 5 months and has just started solid foods (I know it’s early but we were having problems with CMPA and trapped gas so it seemed like the best way to help him) I don’t sterilise his spoons, bowls and plates, they just get washed with hot soapy water. Can I stop sterilising his bottles too? Or should I be sterilising his plates and things? He goes swimming every week and ends up with pool water in his mouth and is constantly putting toys and his hands in his mouth it just seems pointless to me🤷🏻‍♀️ when did everyone else stop?

Colostrum harvesting..

I’m 37 weeks, and my midwife gave me syringes to start trying to get colostrum this week. I’ve tried a few times and out the one side I get nothing, and the other side one or two tiny beads. No where near enough to fill a syringe.

I’m completely new to this as didn’t know about it with my first. But does anyone have any tips or advice to get more? Or is it something that will become more - the more I do?

Thanks in advance ☺️

This feeling

I might come off as ungrateful or like im not cut out for motherhood with this one but why don't we warn each other beforehand about this emotional situation? I wish someone had briefed me about how someday i'll be watching my son sleep and ill break down crying because of how intense the feeling of admiration is, and how love this big is heavy and feels a little too much like grief. it would have been nice to know that i would be so consumed with this love that has nowhere to go. there's no little pamphlet explaining how "you'll never know another love like it" genuinely means that it will overflow from you and your child and there will be nowhere else for it to go, and it will feel so intense and like too much but in the most beautiful way.
anyway, i think we should try and find a better way to articulate just how intense that feeling can be, so other new moms don't feel insane when they join the club

Is anyone feeling done?

Im a first time mom and everytime my almost 2 week old cries its either because shes needing a diaper change or she wants my touch I havent slept in 48 hours because if this im at my wits end call me selfish but im just done when I have no help no partner and no family to speak of anyone else just tired of it? And yes if there are rude comments I can take it because maybe its a reality check

Sterilising the calpol syringe

Hi guys, my little one has his jabs this morning. I only have an electric steam steriliser and I’ve just googled and it said you shouldn’t sterilise the syringe that way. Have people been sterilising them? And have the sterilised them in the steam steriliser???

Hair pulling

My 8 month old is obsessed with my hair at the minute. He's so fascinated by it and loved grabbing to put towards his mouth or even just play with in his hands, the issue is he ends up pulling it and boy do these babies have strong grip. I'm already going through crazy hair loss and him pulling my hair out is making it worse, any tips? :(((
