I’m 37 weeks, and my midwife gave me syringes to start trying to get colostrum this week. I’ve tried a few times and out the one side I get nothing, and the other side one or two tiny beads. No where near enough to fill a syringe.
I’m completely new to this as didn’t know about it with my first. But does anyone have any tips or advice to get more? Or is it something that will become more - the more I do?
Thanks in advance ☺️

Use an oil and massage your boobs before expressing and make sure it’s a baby safe oil or nipple balm but the more you do it the more it will increase but listen to how often your midwife said was ok

I was the exact same to start with about 10 days ago and now collecting a full syringe though not much from my right side. If you keep at it and keep massaging and squeezing you should stimulate them to produce and release it ☺️. May take a few days x

Warm boobies! Have a nice shower/bath, get yourself relaxed, make sure you’re well hydrated too! You’re doing something right if you’re getting one or two tiny beads, try watching some tutorials too🥰

defo make sure you’re super hydrated and also use a hot water bottle! switch between massaging where you feel your glands are and popping the hot water bottle on them. doing this after having a bath really helped me xxx

I was also given syringes 36 weeks but it’s really cringing me out helppp mums why do I feel like this 🫣 sorry I’m trying but I’m struggling with it 🫣🙏🏻😂
