My son is almost 5 months and has just started solid foods (I know it’s early but we were having problems with CMPA and trapped gas so it seemed like the best way to help him) I don’t sterilise his spoons, bowls and plates, they just get washed with hot soapy water. Can I stop sterilising his bottles too? Or should I be sterilising his plates and things? He goes swimming every week and ends up with pool water in his mouth and is constantly putting toys and his hands in his mouth it just seems pointless to me🤷🏻♀️ when did everyone else stop?

Is it formula you use? Still sterilise bottles up to 12 months x

NHS guidelines are to sterilise bottles until 12 months, i think I may have stopped around 11 months. American guidelines from CDC say to stop at 3 months 🤷♀️

We stopped at 12 months to stay on the safe side, even though he was crawling and putting everything in his mouth x

I’ve never steralised plates etc but you need to sterilise bottles until they no longer drink formula (if he’s on formula that is) x
