Is it just me or am I the a**hole because I left a man who wasn’t doing anything for me, our daughter or his other 2 children (from different relationships)? Like he was in and out of jail for the last 2 years, no job, and all he did was stay at his dad’s house and do yard work. I went to school, worked full time and took care of OUR child!! He didn’t call to check on her or see how she had been. He was only ever worried about when we would have sex again. Yet, I am in the wrong because I broke his heart because I was exhausted and fell out of love with him and his needy co-dependent self 🙄

There’s an analogy that my dad says about relationships that I think is very accurate. Two people in a relationship should be like a roof, leaning on each other. It won’t always be 50/50, but they should both fill each other’s gap so it reaches 100% (e.g. 80/20, 40/60, etc.). It comes across that you were giving so much for your family and he wasn’t filling in the gaps. If we use the roof analogy, you leaned in giving your all and he didn’t lean at all, which led you to fall. It’s fine to leave a relationship where you don’t feel supported. Did you communicate to him in the past that you felt he wasn’t helping enough? I’m sure you did but just wanted to double check x

No ur not he’s a bum
