My LO is 4 months old and can now roll onto his front which is amazing, however he is rolling on to his front through the night. He’s in a sleeping bag (unsure if that information is helpful? 😆) sometimes when he rolls he cries as he can’t roll back or he is still sleeping and continues to sleep on his front, is he safe? I’m waking up through the night to check even if he isn’t crying I roll him back onto his back.

Hi there. Sleep consultant here 😊 When he rolls onto his front, when you check on him, just roll him back onto his back. When he rolls both ways, and learns both ways, if he sleeps on his front, it’s absolutely fine 😊 My youngest did the same and I found slept better on his front! He can also lift his head I assume and the cot is nice and clear and safe 🙌🏼

So did mine. (NHS link below)
NHS guidelines however (which she should be following) advises:
move your baby onto their back if they roll (until they can roll onto their front and back again by themselves)
