I just wondered if anyone else is feeling the same way- I love my baby sooo so much and feel guilty writing this but I just don’t know if I love every part, I get sad when I’m alone and almost dread taking care of him myself even though he’s pretty easy going! I constantly plan things and never really have time at home with him alone. I feel selfish and just constantly wanting to be with adults.
I had a really busy job and I’m missing having the working life but also I know when I start to go back to work I’ll feel guilty and sad this part is over. I’m also suffering with PPA and trying to get help (having to wait a full month to talk to someone).
I also worry I haven’t bonded with him, like what does that even look like? I never breastfed which also makes me feel guilty.
I’m just having a hard time feeling happy in this stage I guess. It’s so confusing!!!

I was like this with my first and was terrified of having her on my own so would constantly make myself busy with seeing people/ doing groups. It definitely did her no harm and she is so sociable now! I’m much much more confident with my second and taking it slower but when the older one is at nursery I still very much enjoy being with adults! As much as you love your baby, they give very little back/ no actual communication so it can get boring and be difficult to know how to keep them entertained especially with longer wake windows! It becomes easier once they talk and you can actually chat with them about things.

I here you! I’m the same, I’m a very sociable person and like to be out and about. But I think it’s good for the little ones. I tend to go on his cues, if he’s fussy whilst we are out I tend to bring him home sooner and have some quiet time.. but those times get less and less as he gets used to being out.
I used to get sad about not enjoying parts of it but it’s hard!! And it’s heavily romanticised on social media making us this it’s all magical. It’s not - it’s a real mix of incredibly beautiful and incredibly hard parts.
I also have PPA so I can relate massively.. trying to battle through the negative thoughts and anxieties is so hard but the more you learn to just go with your instincts and whatever works for BOTH of you, the better IMO ☺️
