My little one is 18 months in a couple of days and I think I can count on one hand when he’s had a couple nights decent sleep. He’s never really slept through the night and is doing it more where he’s waking up and no matter what I do to settle him, he’s then awake for a couple of hours then back to sleep. No matter if he has a bad nap or a decent nap throughout the day. I feel like I’m failing and wondering if anyone else has had this?

Is actually very common for kids to not sleep through until 5, you just don’t see it on social media, doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong you just didn’t get extremely lucky. Night wakes are normal and developmentally appropriate

My 18 month old is the same. He'll have some good nights and most nights he's up a few times! You're not failing at all, every child is different. As long he is happy, healthy and thriving that's all that matters

Hey hun, like Bex said above, you are not doing anything wrong. My daughter is 17 months now and would be awake several times at night and would wake up to cuddle me and then mess around. When she was 15 months her little sister was born. We live in a 1 bedroom flat so she moved to the living room sofa bed with my husband so I can be in the bedroom with the newborn as they are very noisy and didnt want to disturb the older ones sleep. He doesnt have any issues with her, she occasionally wakes up for a couple of hours but not often. So maybe try that for a couple of weeks? Only thing I can suggest, but they will sleep thru the night eventually as hard as it is as the moment x

This was the case with my eldest and now my youngest, once my eldest turned 2 I did start to notice an improvement, now she's 5 she sleeps great, it does get better 😊

Some kids just don't sleep.
But what his day like? What time at you up. Do you go out and play, naps etc
