Calling all mamas who have travelled with a 4 month old… I need your advice! ✈️💛

We’re taking our little girl abroad for the first time soon, and I’d love to hear all your tips and tricks!

What are your absolute must pack items? Is there anything you took that ended up being a lifesaver (or something you wish you’d packed)?

I’d also love any advice for getting through the airport:
✈️ Is a baby carrier easier than the pushchair?
🍼 Any tips for security, boarding or feeding on take-off and landing?
🧳 What did you keep in your hand luggage?

And how did you keep your 4-month-old happy on the plane? Did they sleep most of the flight, or were there any toys or activities that kept them entertained?

Please share anything you wish someone had told you before your first trip with a baby! All advice is welcome🤍

Spinning toys, headphones, hats, rompers, headbands, their favourite blanket, travel changing bag that can fit everything in! Dummy! Toy for the pram to entertain them, sufficient shade for the pram to help with nap times. Little fan for them in hand luggage! Take a big tote bag (as big as shopping bags) as you can use it as your personal bag! Lifesaver!

Wear your LG around the airport - helps a lot with settling and security

Keep your phone to Uk time and husband change his to the local time - helps keep on top of naps and feeds!

Buy the rockit! It is worth it and helps a lot holiday and beyond!

Don’t worry about crying on the plane - she’s a baby and it’s expected. You keep calm and ensure their headphones are on. They sleep once they are in the air as it’s white noise to them.

Hope you have fun and take pics for memories xx

I traveled with my baby at 3 months and 5 months old
Both pushchair and carrier are important, at the security they will ask you to remove your baby and just hold her so maybe try to keep her awake for that moment, I was so annoyed I had to wake her up!
My baby slept the entire time as the plane noise is so soothing for them

I kept the pushchair up to the gate and just handed it at the plane before boarding keeping baby in carrier

I’ve flown every month with my baby since he was 2 months. It’s getting harder as he gets older though. 4 months was a dream. I breastfed on take off and landing. Keep cuddling and take a dummy. The one time I was by myself I used a carrier and dropped everything but the baby bag to be checked into the hold. He also went through 3 outfits that flight so take more spares than you think you need! If with hubby I take the pram to the plane as he can do the heavy lifting and I can take baby on board. Once in the air and if Baby does sleep hubby can share a headphone and you can watch something together.
Milton antibacterial wipes to clean everything he or you might touch. Milton also do a hand sanitiser for babies over 3 month and if you have one that puts hands in his mouth this is a lifesaver. Nothing worse than a sick baby! Good luck! Don’t stress, relax and enjoy it! Babies sense it all and feed off your emotions so deep breaths

Tough Time

I love my husband, and he’s an amazing father. Now that I’ve become a SAHM, he’s the one taking on a ton of pressure and providing for our family. I get all of that and I’m so grateful to him, so why do I feel cranky with him all the time?

When he’s got the baby, I feel like he’s doing it all wrong. Like he’s being stubborn and not listening to my advice. He always thinks the baby is crying from gas, which isn’t always the case, but burps him anyways. He doesn’t want to listen to me, even though caring for the baby is my full time job.

When he’s with me, it’s like he doesn’t know what he’s doing either, which has never been the case before the baby. He doesn’t say the right things, or check in on how I’m doing postpartum.

Does this feeling pass? Am I a jerk?

Anyone else’s (male) partner think packing the car is the number one job when getting ready to leave for a trip?

Whenever we’re going anywhere, the first thing he wants to do is load the car. He’s constantly on me “is this ready to go in the car? Is that ready to go in the car?”

He’ll literally take bags that are half packed and start loading them. One time he put an empty cooler in the trunk and said I could just carry the food out to it.

We’re going to a water park hotel for 2 days and 1 night today, and that’s the first thing he said to me 🙃

I have said it to him many times that I like to take an account of things before we start loading it up, and there are many tasks that can be done before it’s time to load the car (the kids are still in their pyjamas…)

My husband has hit me again !!

I understand we started rough , I can’t even believe I’m typing this because I would see stories like this and think this can’t be me . He hit me the first time 2 years ago , sometimes during an argument he would almost hit me but it somehow we stopped by his manipulative mother who lives with us . He’s the only son and she has no husband so of course she has to live here . Now because of her he has hit me ! I told myself I would cope because of the kids , two boys , how will I cope ?? They need a man .. that’s what I kept telling myself . I’ve left before and somehow found myself back again with him and his mother because they begged me to come back . Now I have a busted lip ! A busted lip ! Bleeding .. can’t believe this . On my first day of my work ! Just because they are gonna make me a GM?? Is that it ?? Because since yesterday he’s been talking about it .. I don’t know . .. I’m so sad that this is my life . I just want to leave this earth and rest with my mum cause I’m so ashamed of myself and how I could end up with a man like this .but I can’t leave my kids .. I don’t know …

My son’s father wants to have a “talk”. I don’t want to . I don’t want to hear him . I’m actually in this stage where I don’t feel nothing for him . Everything I felt before I finally decided to get away from him , is still there . I know that he might want to get back together I do miss the feeling of sleeping with someone & cooking for someone but I don’t miss providing for someone other than my child . That’s when messed up . I feel like he only wants to be a family because he knows I held it down . I did everything. I hate being used . I hate feeling like the last option . This man put me through so much I don’t even want to look at him anymore . I feel bad bc my son always ask about him coming to move with us but he don’t get the pain he caused me . I felt like a different person . I hated myself actually . To think that I would want a family when in reality I know that he only wants to come back because he can’t do it alone is unfair and heartbreaking to me . I don’t have feelings for him but I do care that he isn’t in a stable place or environment. I just feel like shit . I hate my life right now

Are all 3 year olds like this?

My 3 year old is horrible to be around at the moment. Everything that comes out of her mouth is a whine. Just doing some colouring this morning - she asks me to write her name and its too big, then its too small, then its not the right colour and we have a meltdown. But its ALL DAY. Then even though she's fully toilet trained and goes to the toilet perfectly in public, at home she will go to the toilet where ever she pleases. Multiple times a day I'm cleaning up wee and poo from carpets and furniture. Shes constantly ignoring me, crying, shouting demands. Its just endless. We take toys away from her, put her in time out, etc. nothing seems to work, but she ls an angel at nursery. I love her but I dread the days she isnt at nursery. It feels unbearable. How long does this go on for? I'm tied to a 2 month old all day and night and my husband is working 12 hour days (from home so he hears it all) and we're just miserable. Sorry for the rant, just looking for any kind of support at this point.

rude or not?

we live in a rural farmland community on a single street residential area. my daughter is 6.5 and homeschooled. we like to go outside with our dogs early and most, if not all, mornings she is hootin’ and hollerin’, laughing, and just generally having a good time, she’s loud lol. we go outside around 7-7:30am every day, part of me wants to ask her to keep it down because we have neighbors on all sides, other part of me doesn’t want to squish her joy.
