Hey ladies, I wanted to know how you all felt about taking home your placenta... I was all set to take mine home, but now I'm like, do I want to bother with all the ends and outs.
I did plan to freeze it until I acquired the citrus tree I chose to bury it under...What do you all think? Have you done it?

I think bearing it under a citrus tree is a sweet idea. I wanted to keep mine but my husband was grossed out so I decided against it also it’s super big once they take it out. It’s kinda amazing how big it was. But if you want to keep it you should and I love your idea.

I’m keeping mine !!

It’s yours! I saved my placenta and got it made into pills so that i can take it PP. I’ve seen people use it in smoothies. There’s soooo many benefits to keeping it so I would definitely recommend.

If I had private land to bury it in I woulda done that, but I live in an apartment so it’s really not feasible for us to take it home & do much of anything with it.
With my first I requested that it was just straight medical waste & not to be utilized for science or research purposes, plan to advocate for the same with my second

I wanted to donate mine but all mine where born on the weekend and the people needed to take it are only in mon-fri 🤷♀️ who knew

I ate mine. For first baby. In congee 😅 it’s a labour of love from the MIL in Asian culture if she cooks up the placenta in congee as a thanks for birthing her Gchild, it’s believed to be full of vitamins and hormones so we don’t have that hormone slump in that first few weeks (I had so much milk omg and I didn’t go through PPd for any) For third baby I found out about encapsulation so I did that. Oh we had to sign a form from hospital though

I'm taking it even though I don't have a plan for it yet because I don't want the hospital keeping something so expensive that's literally from my own body, like if they offered to buy it to knock down my bill then we could work something out, but ive heard/read they don't actually toss them (at least they don't all the time) and they use them in medicines and treatments and stuff, so I'm not letting them keep it for free 🤣

I didn’t think people actually did this. Just bin it.
