Currently at the dentist for my 3 year old. We arrived to find out my husband and I both forgot his shoes. In the middle of a meltdown I hollered to my husband to just load him up in the car and get his (my son’s shoes) and throw those in the car. My husband thought I meant that my husband needed his own shoes on (he was shoeless at the time I said that). So here we are shoeless at the dentist.
We have also been places where we’ve forgotten bottles (and I exclusively pump) because it’s like we thought the other was getting it.
I know we’re still rusty with two kids. 6 weeks in. Didn’t need to communicate this much with one kid just one of us would do everything. This tag teaming has left us in embarrassing situations.
Just asking for solidarity…? 😅

Aww love. I’ve had moments where things feel like a huge failure in the moment and I’ve just needed a little perspective; to Zoom out a bit. Give yourself grace and be at peace knowing that you are doing your best! Loving your family well is the #1 thing you can do for them, and if you are beating yourself up over shoes, it’s sounds like you’ve got the loving them part covered. Don’t be too hard on yourself about this and don’t let anyone else be either. Moms balance SO much, it’s human to forget things, it’s okay 🩷
