Hey so this more of a rant/ has anyone else experienced this… so I’m 35 weeks pregnant baby is over 7 pounds so far and have gestational diabetes for the second time … last baby was 10 pound at birth … Went in for reduced movements twice in the past week and a bit .. spend three days in the second time , for 3 different consultants to say something different to each other. One minute it’s yes to getting baby out and the next no. Even tho it’s still less movements now… I just feel so confused and lost with it all as I know it’s classed as pre labour etc but what do they do if it happens again and I’m only 36 weeks … do they then get baby out or not? Sorry for the rant…

I think they like babies to get to 37 weeks to be safe. I had pre eclampsia complications snd jept being told they would do c section at 37 weeks but they ended up doing it at 36 weeks. Baby was classed as a preemie but was fine. If there is a need they will get baby out but otherwise they will wait. A midwife told me not to be too keen to get baby out as the longer they are inside the better it is for them. Xx

So I’ve experienced this too, I didn’t have gestational diabetes. I just have type 1 diabetes. My baby was barely moving around the 35 week mark and I kept going back and fourth from my maternity assessment unit. It was only the 3rd visit they kept me in and monitored me and as soon as I hit the 37 week mark, they done a cat 2 emergency c section. Keep pushing for some sort of outcome, they don’t tend to do anything before 37 weeks if your scans and tests are okay etc. because you’ll need to have steroids and it’s more risky. If you think something is very very wrong unfortunately you need to repeat repeat repeat until someone does something x

They shouldn’t leave you if you’re genuinely having reduced movement but like the above comment says they’ll rarely do something before 37 weeks if the scans and tests and monitors are ok.
I was induced at 37 weeks due to having my baby stillborn at 39 weeks. Was due to be induced at 38 weeks but I got taken into hospital with suspected high blood pressure around 36 weeks 2 days and was in for 3 days (I was just worrying I didn’t have high blood pressure) they went to send me home at 37 weeks and I asked to see my consultant and literally begged him to induce me due to the fear and anxiety and me already being in there and he agreed to do it.
If you really do think somethings wrong then take yourself back and just ask the right people the right questions and hopefully they’ll do something about it even if you’re on a monitor for a few days so they can track things and take it from there. I hope everything is ok xxx
