Kissing baby

So many parents tell visitors or others to not kiss their newborn due to HSV risk and your child’s developing immune system. What is the common age people change this rule? Or do you not ever outside of yourself/partner? Wondering what’s reasonable :)

I tried to keep it just me an partner but the mums on either side dont listen an are like why I wouldn't pass anything on

My mother in law drives me nuts kissing my kids all the time 😭 I hate it so much. I wish she would stop. I think at any age it should just be the babies parents!!

I’ve never even had to mention it, most normal people know not to do it. I had no issue though with my mum kissing their foreheads and snuggling as newborns. I’m 35 now but first kid at 31, no concerns about their immune systems or sheltering them for weeks indoors which seems common on here.

We kind of changed the rule after she got her RSV shot. Then again most people that give her kisses, which other than us is only like two or three people (two "Aunties" and her "Nonna"... Quotations only because we're not blood related to these people but they're like family), give her the kisses on her cheeks..... And really I'm the only one that she will actually allow to give her mouth kisses

Miscarriage

Pregnancy 1: missed miscarriage at 9 weeks
Pregnancy 2: healthy full term baby
Pregnancy 3: blighted ovum found out at 8 week scan
Now pregnant again and terrified of having another miscarriage. Anyone have a blighted ovum and then went on to have a healthy baby?

Midwife appointment

Has anyone else found their 24/25 week midwife appointment pointless? Apart from getting my MAT1B form I didn’t see the point in it really. Just asked about my well being and that was it - was that normal?

Rolling

My 4 month old isn’t rolling over yet. I’m not worried about it as I know it’ll happen when he’s ready but the past day when he lays down he tries to move/shuffle himself up towards the nearest thing to his head and twists his head loads while getting frustrated/ crying. Is this him trying to roll him self over or a sign of something else? Would love some advice if anyone has had similar :)

I’m having a mare

I’m 38 weeks pregnant today, last night I had heavy bleeding and was told to come into triage, my partner drove me in my car and it broke down about 2 mins into the journey (it’s never had any problems in 2 years), I ended up having to phone an ambulance and we left the car. My mom came to stay with my toddler and she’s just messaged me to say she can’t find the cat anywhere, she’s an indoor cat and has never been outside but my mom has been hanging out washing in the garden bless her and the cat must have slipped out. I know they say it comes in 3s but does it really need to be now 😩 I’m a nervous wreck.

C section next week

I’m going in to have my elective section on the 13th August. I’m yet to pack my bag.

Can anyone give ideas on what I need to take with me? Or anything they know that helped them? I’ve seen people talking about taking gum

Time off for appointments

Just wondering if everyone's managers are allowing them time off work to go to appointments, without having to make the time back? As far as I understand we're entitled to this. My manager took the time off me to go to my scan, which was only an hour. Should I be saying something?
