First walking shoes

I’m having the biggest stress, my little girl started walking about a week or so ago. When does she need to go to get proper shoes?
I’m taking her to her first football match next Saturday, we aren’t taking the pram so she might walk a little bit if she’s more confident but I’ve been fully shut down by my MIL being told I’m just fussing over it. Does she need some proper walking shoes to go to the football or am I just fussing?

midwives vs partners

Has anyone else had a negative experience with midwives treating your boyfriend/husband/ male partner poorly? It started with pre natal appointments where he was completely ignored, wasn’t asked if he had any questions or anything. I know it’s the woman who’s pregnant but he often left those appointments feeling like a spare part, despite trying to be as involved as he could.

My partner was incredibly supportive during labour, but in that tense senario all I needed was his hand to hold and squeeze, I didn’t need any more physical/ verbal support and the midwife’s made comments like “tell her she’s doing a good job” and I thought it was so unnecessary. This was our second child so I knew what I wanted and needed from him and we’d discussed this prior.

Appointments after birth were just the same. When the midwife came to our home to visit I was holding the baby and happened to be walking past the door when she arrived, so I opened the door and led her in. After doing th checks on our baby she made a snide comment like “we’ll give baby to dad so mam can get some rest” Little did she know he’d been up with him all night while I had 10 hours uninterrupted sleep. My partner had privately voiced his insecurities on not feeling like he was doing enough, especially in those early days. The constant condescending tones from health professionals made this so much worse and he put so much pressure on himself as a result.

Maybe it’s just my district but has anyone else had any experiences like this?

First time mom over here feeling totally overwhelmed and a little bored if I’m honest by all the stuff we are told we need for our babies, and then having like a gazillions brands all offering the same thing.

Anyone got any recommendations for their best ever pram/ 360 car seat combo? Bed side crib? Breast pumps?

Also anyone with advice on stuff they have bought that they did not use at all, or things they absolutely can’t live without??? Like do we need the bottle sanitizer or not? Do we need a nursing chair? Wipes warmer? Special nappy bin vs just a bin?

The internet really is telling us we need a lot of stuff, but I’m just not sure what to believe anymore. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. X

Breastfeeding in public! How to do it?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice on breastfeeding in public. At the moment, I can only comfortably breastfeed my baby at home using two pillows — one to support his body and another to support his head. He also doesn’t really like the cradle hold, and I’ve tried the koala position but it hasn’t worked for us so far.

I’d really like to be able to breastfeed when we’re out, but I’m struggling to find a position that works without all the pillow support. Has anyone been in a similar situation or found a position that worked well for their baby? I’d really appreciate any tips! ❤️

High chairs

what age did your kids outgrow the high chair? Like physically outgrow it not just throw a tantrum lol

My 27 month old started wanting to eat in his high chair again after my 6 month old started weaning, we have the ikea high chair. just wondering if anyone else’s 2yo is still in their high chair

Is she too small?

My baby (4.5m) is simply too long for her carry cot but I’m worried she’s too small for this setting? It’s fully reclined and she does seem to be fine but must want another opinion!

Loves to sleep

My 15 month old daughter loves her sleep she will still have 2 naps a day and sleep through the night from 6:30pm until 6am I'm not complaining as I get to get all the house cleaning done I need to do bit it can me stressful when you want to go out and do things as a family wirh your 5 year old but if you do and she misses her nap she is like a little hurricane 🤣 🤣 so most of the time it's me and her at home buy going to try to go put again next week and see how it goes anyone eles 15 month old still love to sleep or is it just mine
