Weight reviews

My 10 month old has been pulled for a weight review after his 9-12 month check this morning as his weight has dipped. Despite her trying to reassure me that she has no other concerns I can’t help but overthink this situation! He’s very happy, he’s very active, climbing and cruising around our sofa aswell as crawling, he eats well and still breastfeeds regularly. He’s also my 4th child so I’d like to think I know somewhat what I’m doing. I don’t feel I have any concerns regarding him and can’t help but feel annoyed and stressed, or like I’m doing something wrong…. Any reassurance or experience of this? What can I give him to fatten him up😅🤣

Whole milk yogurt!! It fatten my daughter up and she loved it

Whole milk, whole cream, full fat yogurt, generally lots of fats. Preferably good fats like avocado and plant oils. High calorie but nutrient dense foods.

Just for perspective - my mom had to spend a year under the pediatrician (in Canada, we only get pediatricians when there is an issue, otherwise baby just sees the GP), because my brother was chronically underweight. He was a terrible eater, sleeper, everything. And today he's 30 years old, played football in high school and junior league, and is built like a brick house. Those weight charts are useful guidelines, but they aren't everything.

Favourite children

My partner has a child with a previous ex, a girl who’s now 4. He buys her everything, clothes, toys, plans days out, absolutely everything. Everytime I’ve mentioned how I can’t wait to do something such as a bike for our 11 month old son as these were prime memories of my childhood he will go out and buy the thing I’ve mentioned for his other child. I’ve also started recently collecting blue nose teddies for my son and there small and can be safely in his cot and when I was small I used to collect certain lines of teddies, I then later found out he started doing the same thing for his child with his ex partner yet shows no interest in me doing it for our son. He hasn’t bought him anything since he’s been born or even when I was pregnant and when he promised to help when he was a newborn he was bearly ever here however when he had his baby with his ex and they split up pretty soon he’d go round to help with bath and bed 3 days a week.

I’m also pretty sure he ditched me and his son to go and spend Father’s Day with his other child at his own dads house as I had lots of things planned and he didn’t show up. Bearing in mind I was so so excited because this is the first ever Father’s Day I ever got to plan as it may not be a first for him but it’s a big first for me. He never plans any days out for me and my son it’s always me and I buy everything, every toy and every item of clothing. Ontop of that his first birthdays coming up soon and I’ve chosen all the gifts and planned the whole party on my own but when it comes down to his child with his previous partner he goes out and spends hundreds. He even ditched my son and I on Christmas Eve to go out and spend 4 hours in Smyths for his other child and didn’t bring 1 thing back for our son (don’t get me wrong, he was 3 months old then) but even just a little gesture or teddy or anything. I had to go shopping for our son for his Christmas presents on my own whilst he did that.

He despises his ex as she lied to him about being on birth control and hr never wanted a child with her but did want one with me so why does he do nothing for my son but does everything for his other child and also helped out his ex partner more when she lives with her parents and didn’t do anything for me when Blake was born and I was all on my own.

Learning at nursery

So my little one’s just turned one and he’s starting nursery later this month. His nursery doesn’t offer any basic learning/curriculum at all until 3 years. My baby is quite a fast learner so I was hoping he would pick up new things at nursery like colours and 123.

Is this the case at other nurseries too? They only do singing, interactive/messy play. Am I expecting too much lol

How much are you January babies eating? How many meals are you offering? How much do they ACTUALLY eat from it? Struggling as my girl still isn’t showing much interest in weaning.

I have 6 recipe books for ideas and honestly some of them seem insane to me😂 also BLW genuinely gives me fear. I hate this first starting to eat stage honestly and her not being interested isn’t helping me😩

Is the relationship broken??

So me and my boyfriend had a little chat yesterday and he had told me that he enjoys his alone time more than being around me. He says that he sometimes feels suffocated because I’m a very energetic person. I told him that I am really trying to work on myself, but that lately I’m having a lot of insecurities due to our distance. He told me that I can’t force him to say that we’re gonna be okay because I was crying. I felt horrible because of it because it wasn’t my intention to guilt trip him. Now I’m really unsure where we’re going with our relationship. He says he wants to work on us and that he loves me, but I personally have the feeling that he might’ve already pulled out of this relationship.

I feel stuck… what do I do?

Thanks 😊
