What to expect when I stand up from a c section? How does it feel?

Due a planned c section due to a complicated birth last time.

What will it feel like when I stand up and move around for the first time? I keep having nightmares that it will feel like my insides are falling out.

I‘ve recently had an emergency c section and can confirm my insides felt secured inside of me at all times. The main area of pain for me was where my stitches were and turning / walking would give me a burning sensation. However I do think it’s unbelievable how quickly you get back on your feet. Every day I could feel massive improvements. The area around the scar is still numb, which is a weird feeling but obviously doesn’t hurt

I’m 2 weeks post c section and honestly it’s okay, your sore and scared but it does get better. The midwife helped me up and took me to the shower and I was essentially left to shower myself with a catheter still in, then walked back to bed and it was removed I was then put onto a ward and had to just call the midwife’s anytime the baby needed me, standing and walking the first 2 days are odd as you feel hunched over and I played sat up on the bed to sleep. Now I feel good, but still can’t walk long distances and just feel slightly bruised!

You’ll be sore but it’s so manageable. The hardest parts for me were having to use my arms and shoulders to pull up from laying to sitting to standing and I was foolish and didn’t drink nearly enough water for the stool softener to work so I was v v constipated.
Once the catheter is out - which I didn’t feel them taking it out which was a plus, I felt okay to shower and walk around.
The best advice I could give would be - just because you’re feeling better don’t too much and risk a set back - take it easy for 6 weeks. Enjoy the slow pace. And then drink all the water you can! Xxxx

I had my first c-section in August last year, and I never felt like that (although I did have the same worry haha!). The midwives are always keen to get you up walking as soon as possible which at the time I thought nooo but actually, it’s so much better to. However, only short spells and slowly, the biggest advice is do not rush yourself as in the long run it just makes recovery much longer!! 🥰

Just a repeat of the above. it's not bad but I will say if they offer you painkillers, don't try to tough it out, just take what's offered and don't do too much too soon. Spend all the time you can resting for as long as you can, no matter how good you feel 😁

Big baby advice please!!

I attended my midwife appointment today (27+4) and baby is literally off the scales! Midwife has said she’s referring me for an emergency scan and look really concerned for me. Has anyone else’s growth chart shown a baby this big? If so what was the weight at birth? TIA

Labour approaching?

Advice on early induction

I had my growth scan today (35 weeks) and they are measuring on the 9th percentile. I have another scan in two weeks and they'd like to discuss inducing between 37-39 weeks if they've not grown enough. Any advice or similar experiences?

Second baby and my first was born 6th percentile at 40 weeks - small but perfectly healthy!

Please help calm me down…

(Third baby / two previous spontaneous labours).

I am spiralling.

37+5 and went in for reduced movements yesterday. Had a scan today and baby is transverse.

They want to do an ECV on Thursday at 38 weeks to get baby head down (obvs with risk), and then if successful they want to break my waters so she cannot move again (and will either go into labour or need induction). If unsuccessful, they want to schedule a section.

Please please please give me a positive story that doesn’t result in days long labour / c section 😭😭

I know ultimately the most important thing is getting baby out safely, however I am absolutely petrified of the thought of both induction/c section.

They have said if I don’t have the ECV the likelihood of her going down on her own now is low and may need emergency c section anyway 🥺
