being a sahm or mom who’s with the babies/kids the most means you get zero sick days. i don’t get sick a bunch but when i do i still have to take care of my toddler 24/7. i have food poisoning? oh well, my husband won’t call out of work and i still have to get everything done in between the bathroom runs. my husband has gout or body aches? he’s out for the count ALLLLLL DAY. sleeping mainly. and kind of a dick. i can’t even remember the last time I’ve even slept past 7am. but he does it on the regular.

I'm surprised you got to toddler age before you realized it's like that. I got so sick after my first pregnancy again and again. It was a crash course in how mamas never get a break.

Theres no system, we need to rig one up fr fr. If you arent a direct caretaker. Nobody understands that exact headspace + physical space you are in REGULARLY. it is not a normal space ...definitely a workspace . And it does not have a safety net, it is wildfire in this place

Cuz if we never learned about how needs can be met while you are tending to work with no break.
Partnerships GOTS TO got to got to got to have the balance to self care regularly in spite of every curve ball that will keep coming at us till we are old and dusty. Its proactive daily action for the committments we binded ourselves to

My husband still has to work but there’s no expectation of me to do everything as normal. There’s no chores happening, no laundry. There’s a blanket fort on the sofa and everyone is breaking screen time rules and binging Sesame Street and napping together. It’s a minimal effort day then daddy cooks dinner and takes over when home.

Your husband should be calling off work if you’re sick

Husbands can be little so having a village is so important. I do not right now but I’m on here to hopefully build one because we need people and we need help 😔
