The date was booked in at 32 weeks for 39 weeks but regardless of which consultant you have this shouldn't change. (This might not apply if you have any complications or risk factors!)

Just double check they definitely put the correct date down when they book you in as Dr Mawson put mine in wrong and it caused a lot of problems!

thank you so much for answering, my consultant i have seen said she will book at 32 weeks but i have got my appointments come through with dr mawson i haven’t seen him before and i know every consultant does it differently so i have been worried he may not book me in at 32 weeks, i have seen some consultants wont book until 36 weeks! did you have much flexibility with dates? Xx

PLEASE push to have your date booked in as soon as possible. They cancelled my 32 week consultant appointment, told me they’d book me in at 36 weeks. I went at 36 weeks and they told me they’ve got no appointments and have booked my caesarean for 41+1 and told me if I go into labour earlier than that I’ll have to have an emergency section (I’ve had a previous traumatic emergency section but no one seems to actually care 🫠)

yes that is what i am so worried about, if ive been moved consultants and they leave it until 36 weeks to book that by the time im 36 weeks there would be no slots left and i’d be left overdue and need an emergency c section! X

hahah yes i think you are! my last pregnancy i saw the same consultant other than once or twice and she booked me at 32 weeks, did my pre op and also did my c section, this time ive seen her again twice but now been moved to a different one xx

yeah i only got my letters come through yesterday tried to ring the appointment line to see if i could move back but couldn’t get through, as long as i can manage to get a date at 32 weeks ill be fine with whichever consultant i just don’t want to be left overdue especially as my c section will be xmas time which means less staff and less sections x

Not sure if this is the one I had (it was for sga/iugr). Had my first appointment with him on the 2nd of Feb at 35+4 and booked my induction for the 14th at 37+2. Took more than a month to get the appointment since I was referred

Bump dropping

Hi! Im 33+5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. My bump seems to have dropped today, I had my antenatal appointment yesterday and baby wasnt engaged.
Im just wondering when everyone's dropped and if this is too early? Should I be contacting the midwives? Im not in pain other than lightening crotch evey now and again, and baby moving like normal.

Thank you xx

Natural birth or C-section?

Hi, I am due my first baby in October and my partner and family are advising me to have a C-section. As they say it’s less painful etc. But I would prefer a natural birth and wouldn’t want to go through recovery after the C-section. I had an ovarian cyst removed at 14 weeks, along with my ovary and fallopian tube. It took me weeks to recover from this and worry the recovery for C-section would be the same. Does anyone have any advice please? Would you have a C-section or opt for natural birth?

Where are your 4mo at?!

What are your 4 month olds doing developmentally & how are their motor skills?? My little man turned 4mo on the 7th & he has really good head control when being held & lifts his trunk pretty good during tummy time. He isn’t quite sitting yet but he can stay stable for a few secs-mins until he topples over or starts to slouch. He starting to kick during tummy time & when provided he pushes off of my hand or my leg or really anything lol. I’ve seen so many 4mo olds start to kind of scoot (almost crawl) etc. I wanna know where yall are at! 😊

Early pregnancy bleeding

Hey mamas, has anyone gone through this? I’m roughly 7weeks pregnant and I had an emergency scan due to bleeding for around two weeks now and was told to comeback for another scan to see if there’s a heart beat as it was too small and that there is bleeding on my cervix, I’ve had spotting in my first pregnancy but not like this. Does this sound like a miscarriage or has anyone had this and the baby was fine?

How many ultrasounds are we having?

I've been comparing notes with several of my friends, and it seems there is *no* consensus for how many ultrasounds your doctor orders during pregnancy. One of my friends only had 3. I've already had 5 at 31 weeks and have 4 more scheduled. I'm trying to figure out if this is an doctor by doctor thing, or if it's because I'm seeing an MFM (due to chronic illness stuff; I've had zero complications with the pregnancy itself.)

So... How many are you scheduled to have?
