I was just wondering if there a way where my body doesn’t agree with folic acid. I’ve noticed a pattern with taking it, when I take the folic acid of a morning I’ll be vomiting all day and if I take it in the evening with food I’ll be up all night vomiting but the days where I don’t take it I’m not vomiting or any nausea. I’ve noticed in 2 weeks I have lost Just over 2kg and I’m unsure if it’s a bad thing. I have tried different brands and thinking back it was the same with my first baby

Hi Courtney, I did some googling because I struggled a lot with nausea (thankfully not so much vomiting). I did read that for some women folic acid is hard to tolerate and can increase nausea. It may be worth trying to get an antenatal supplement which has methylfolate in instead which apparently is a bit easier for the body to absorb!

Also, don’t worry if you can’t take it. I’m suffering from HG and haven’t been able to take my vitamins for weeks. Now I’ve been on medication I can only take them in shake form not as a tablet. Please don’t feel guilty or bad if it doesn’t agree with you and you miss some days until you find the one that works.

I also found the better you vitamin spray to be really helpful when I could take tablets
