My son who is 5 just started kindergarten. We are in week two and today he had a bad day. He didn’t listen at all. teacher looked worn out when I picked him up.
I also found out he was getting into a little girls face today and just being a bully and I’m worried.
Normally his conduct is good, the occasional days of not listening and talking out of term, but the bullying really startled me since it was a girl.
I know with other boys in his preschool they would rough house but I’m just worried it will escalate if I don’t kick the habit now
He is in a private school so this is considered in incident.
I talked to my son, took away the tv and iPad for today and hopes that we will have a better day tomorrow.
What should I do?

I work in childcare and have had many children act like this. At home I recommend having a sit down with him, and if he's willing to talk or open up abt his peers/what hes seen it will give an outlook on what he thinks is normal. u can tell him to use, and teach kind words/actions and to use them for himself and others.

not sure if this is an option but my son was having a lot of that and usually stays for aftercare and I started picking him up earlier. think he was wanting more time together too

My son behavior has been increasing since he turned 5 too. Not sure what's going on. If its just a phase. My son also has a speech disorder too so that maybe adding to it. At least you are tackling the problem head on so it doesnt get worse. Good job. Praying for us mom. Its rough out here

Change is hard for anybody, but especially for young children!! Especially if he isn't used to being in a structured setting, it's probably so new and different for him! (I don't know how you do things at home/prior to him starting Kindergarten, of course) I wonder if he got overstimulated by everything being asked of by him during the day and maybe didn't know how to process those emotions?
