Food

Not here to be judged please. Looking for advice.

I’m an over feeder, no matter who it is I will always provide more than enough food on everyone’s plate. I’d rather people have more than enough than not enough 🤷🏻‍♀️

My question is, how do you know when your baby has had enough food? I feel like my 13 month old would keep eating and keep eating and keep eating if I never stopped…

Just worried he could be eating too much. He has 2 bottles of cows milk per day, breakfast and before bed.

The best thing i would suggest is that even if you make extra food, don't put it all on the plate. Your child can always have seconds if they are still hungry but they will more than likely over eat if there is too much food on the plate. My children dont know when they are full so i portion control for them. I am the same. If its there, i eat it and have no feeling of fullness until i am way past full. Use childrens plates or small picnic plates. Make sure that they are getting all the food groups each meal as this will help them to be full.

People will tell you that your child will stop eating if they are full but that is not the case for every child.

They’re growing so much and so quickly I’m not sure it is possible to overfeed. But a good rule of thumb re portions is their stomachs are the size of their fists, and to make sure they’re being given good quality food and not just processed snacks

How much is he eating is the real question? Babies and toddlers are very intuitive with their food (which is why we often stress so much about how much they’re eating) and it’s best looking over the course of a week for intake x

I have looked into this a lot myself because my little one has always had a great appetite and everything I read and all medical professionals I spoke to said never limit their food. If they're hungry let them eat and even if they ask for more give them more. Because they are growing so rapidly they can have massive appetites. Also, now my daughters 22 months and her appetite has majorly slowed down so I really wouldn't worry. And at 13 months your little one is probably walking now? They will be running around burning loads of energy

Not feeling excited..?

I am currently 37 + 2 and labour day is coming soon. I am not feeling very excited tbh, feel sad that my child free days are over, that my life will never be the same again and worrying that I’ll be a bad parent (and an anxious parent too).

I’ve been with my partner for 6 years, we own a house together and generally speaking we have a lot of support however I’m also concerned he isn’t growing up enough because of the support and dependency (from his family) and lack of maturity around what it’s actually going to be like having a baby. I fear he is too positive about it all and to be quite honest that really annoys me.

I’m not sleeping, I don’t feel supported and I am so uncomfortable in this heat. Ironically, the physical aspects of birth don’t worry me too much it’s just everything else!

Can someone please sense check me and tell me everything is going to be okay?!?

Would you hire a single mom as a nanny?

She would bring her young kids as well or you could bring your child to her place.

Am I over reacting?

My partner (26 M) has a job where he does 2 early morning shifts 2 late night shifts and then 2 night shifts. Followed then by 4 days off. Which means I care for our baby by myself through the duration of the 6 working days. He may do the odd bottle or nappy change but this is quite rare. On his days off he refuses to do anything, again maybe the odd bottle etc. I’ve told him I feel so burned out and he just carries on just the same with no acknowledgement of my words.

He doesn’t clean, tidy nor cooks. And we still go 50:50 on all the bills.

Before I totally errupt on him am I over reacting should I say something? I don’t know what to do anymore.

Thank ladies :)

Boyfriend takes long 💩

I know by the title alone it might not seem like much. But does anyone else’s boyfriend/husband do this as well? Literally every single time he needs to 💩, it’s anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and 10 minutes (his longest one, I was curious so I timed it) like bro. Does it really take that long every time?? I’ve looked it up and it says when they do this they have a medical issue and should get it checked. I’ve been with him for 2 years and he’s always done this. Even before getting together people have told me how long he takes in there. I’ve checked through his phone( I know, but whatever) like literally everything. Every app, every deleted messages, every back up I can do, everything and there’s no sign of cheating. So now I’m curious if anyone else’s man literally shits for an hour or if it’s just mine. And does it seem like there’s more he might be doing or just really sitting there for an hour shitting and scrolling TikTok?? Sometimes it drives me crazy bc this morning for example, wakes up later than he usually does, then is now taking his 40 minutes long bathroom break then will have to immediately get ready for work and leave. Like 0 time together before he leaves for work, then when he gets home he always has to smoke and then go shit for another 40 min-1 hour. Like please tell me others have this problem with their partner and it’s not just me.

Question for When both parents are home are you both equally responsible for the children you share together?

My son has pica (eats thinks that aren’t food) and my bf (who is also his dad) blames me for when our sons eats dirt or a rose or something in the backyard, we have 2 other younger children that I’ll be tending to or finally getting self care for the day/week and he comes yelling at me because our son did that even when he’s asked to watch them for 10-20 mins. Is the responsibility always going to fall on me? I can’t be everywhere at once…. He called me today and said “u better watch it” kept saying “yeah” then hung up before I could even say anything over this same conversation even tho this has happened 2-3 times max on his watch
