Hi all,
So I'm 6 weeks pp and for the last few weeks I experience extreme hot sweats throughout the day where I'm literally dripping, often associated with an anxiety feeling that comes out no where. The anxiety is purely physical as I have no racing thoughts or unusual thoughts and I'm not worried about my babies health. Also experienced some insomnia although that's hit and miss and often associated with an adrenaline type response. I've also lost about 2-2.5 stone since birth and noticed my hair literally falls out if I run my hands through my hair. The DRs think it's a postpartum anxiety picture but I'm struggling to accept that because my thoughts are fine. I'm the typical mum who doesn't love the newborn stage, I find kids such much more fun when they interact with you etc... this been said I'm completely capable of caring for my son and thinks he's absolutely gorgeous. He's currently asleep on my chest š
I've had my thyroid checked at 1 week pp when the insomnia started however it was normal, I've asked the GP to re-run the tests as it feels like an imbalance of some kind. Does anyone know if thyroids can still go deranged but test results don't pick it up?
Thanks

Have you monitored your heart rate? I developed hyperthyroidism after my first son was born. My symptoms were hot, high heart rate from doing nothing, shakiness and the feeling of anxiety or adrenaline out of nowhere. If you have those especially the high heart rate Iād recommend going to your dr and asking to do a thyroid blood check. My heart rate was 140 got to the hospital after emt checked me out and then it was over 150
