Do children with noise sensitivity always have ASD or can it be a phase?

She’s 3 doesn’t like loud noises, or repetitive noises. Easily startled to the point where me and my husband can’t shout for each other in separate rooms. Wont wear headphones because she doesn’t like them. Doesn’t like when people say bye also. Currently waiting on a referral for a hearing test.

No. Many children who have autism may have some form of sensory processing need but it doesn’t always go the other way round. Some children have a sensory processing need (sensory processing disorder) independently or there are independent reasons, especially when it comes to sound. I’m not a medical professional but this has come from lots of training as a primary teacher around autism and sensory processing disorder xx

That’s good to know thankyou. She’s always had an issue with sounds but it’s become more of an issue as shes gotten older. Xx

Currently dealing with the same thing. My son doesn't have any neurodivergent needs but does complain when things are loud but it isn't always consistent with what he complains about.
We have a hearing test coming up as nursery noticed it recently.
I personally don't think he has ASD or hearing issues I think he is just not a fan of loud/annoying sounds.

So my daughter is now two months old and about 14days old, she was five weeks early, so any way I was told by my last HV appointment she should start smiling, I was like ok but in her own time, I know babies will do things in their own time, last week I began to notice her trying to smile and yesterday I leaned over her cot to give her a morning kis and she smiled at me and fell asleep, when she was a awake she smiled at me while I dressed her, this morning she smiled again and tired to get photos, these are her smiling aren't they, I was letting her do in her own time but I didn't know if premature babies have some catching up to do because they are premature but please tell the truth is she starting to smile

nighttime nappies

Hey, i just wanted to hear what others were doing basically - if your LO sleeps through the night then do you change their nappies or not? obviously dirty ones you will need to change but what about wet ones?

Hair removal down there

Hi mums, just want to ask how you're managing hair removal down there? I'm tempted to use hair removal cream, pre-pregnancy it was the only thing that helped me do it without cuts/nicks and I hated using my razor/trimmer. My bits are unbearable now and I really need a better solution as I cut myself more using my razor and trimmer (can't see what I'm doing because of bump). Does anyone have an at home solution that works completely? Can I just use hair removal cream? And is it safe? 😢 Thank you ❤️

Double buggy?

I have a 2 month old and a 3 year old, and I’m considering a double buggy but some people have told me not to bother!
For context, I try and get out and about with both my kids when I’m on my own, my toddler doesn’t really like to walk for extended periods, little legs get tired. And my 2 month old already weighs around 13/14lbs. Him in a baby carrier hurts my back 😅
I was considering a double buggy that my daughter can just get in and out of, we’re also going on holiday in October and I thought a double buggy would be convenient when we are on days out.
Does anyone have any recommendations, suggestions? My budget is £200 max really as I know I won’t use it for that long. Thanks x

I have my only boy who is 21 months old and not really saying many words. He understands everything and does ramble on all day in his baby language lol but I haven’t been concerned as such but a few people have asked me why isn’t he saying many words and it made me feel slightly anxious but I was just thinking he will do it on his own time. Just wanted to get other parents opinions etc, thanks in advance x

People are telling me to bottle feed!!!!

I’m exclusively breastfeeding and I keep getting comments saying I should express my milk and bottle feed. I really don’t want to. Does anybody else find people comment on this?
