Toddler meltdowns.

Hi. I hope all is well.

I honestly need to vent. And also some advice. Or I need to know if anyone can relate because I feel so alone in this. Recently my 2 year old has been throwing the WORST tantrums. I don’t even know what to call them. Tantrums or meltdowns. It first happened at the park that’s 5 min away from where we live (we walked). And she was crying as if I was doing something bad to her. Everyone was staring. I felt so horrible. I cried silently all the way home while she screamed and cried in her stroller. Now it’s happening everyday, at least once a day. She screams so loud and cries so much. It’s if she doesn’t get her way. I feel horrible and we live in an apartment complex so I get scared if neighbors are gonna call the cops. She doesn’t want my comfort she wants to be by herself. I let her know I’m here if she needs me to hug her. She tells me no. And wants to be alone. I let her be but I can hear her from the other room just screaming and crying. I always end up crying, I get so overwhelmed. I try not to let her see me crying. But once she’s done she comes back and lets me comfort her by hugging her. Is any of this normal?

Girl my son is the same way and he’s only one. Be driving me nuts. He goes as far as throwing himself backwards when he has his tantrums because I won’t let him get his way. I have days where I feel the same as you but I also have days where I just laugh at him for it because of how exhausted I am. Every kid goes through tantrums when they don’t get their way. It’s fine if they get their way every now and then, especially if we are just too tired to deal with them throwing a tantrum. What matters is making sure that they know they won’t always get what they want because that’s not how the world works. Which sucks sometimes and hurts our mom hearts but if they get their way everytime then they won’t know how to properly react when they don’t get their way when they are older. You’re doing amazing momma. Ignore other people staring because I promise that there are moms that are going through the same thing or went through the same thing.

Advice please!

So I have a friend who loves my baby and will sometimes take care of him. Her whole extended family loves my family, my baby and it seems like every time he is with them, though, his basic needs are not met. They dote on him and play with him and are so fun with him, but he never seems to eat enough or drink enough. When he was really young, maybe a couple months old, I left my friend with him and she said he only wanted one bottle that day. He was starving. At the end of the day I had to nurse him for hours because of how hungry he was. I don’t understand how she didn’t get those cues. She told me that he cried a lot, and she bounced him etc., until he went to sleep. And I’m like, he was crying because he was hungry! So time has passed and he is now an older toddler so I thought maybe it would be better this time and I let them hang out with him for just a couple hours. When he came back home, he ran to a puddle outside and tried to start drinking it. When I brought him in, I filled up a sip cup and he drank the entire thing so quickly. He was so thirsty. I was so shocked. He now knows how to ask for water so I don’t get why he didn’t get water. I’m really worried about bringing it up, but I’m definitely not gonna allow them to take care of him again until he can talk properly. What would you do in this situation?

Am I being too sensitive?

I asked my husband to come to Target with me. He said he didn’t want to go and then proceeded to tell me that I cant do things by myself and I’m codependent. I just want to do things with him, I can obviously go by myself but I enjoy being with him. I told him thats insulting and he doesn’t understand why because he thinks he is just telling me the truth. This spiraled into a huge argument and we are now in separate rooms. Am I looking into this? Am I being too sensitive because of my hormones?

Venting about partner?

He comes from a single parent household so his mom did everything he also had lots of responsibilities he was the oldest mom sometimes left him with younger siblings when he was as little as 7 (Mexico) his aunt that’s like his mom she is married works even with 5 kids and during pregnancy and back I made it clear I won’t do that i was a single parent to one girl I had full responsibility her dad saw her once a week. if I have to work while my partner works and I take care of kids and do everything i rather be alone I don’t need you. I stay at home with 3 kids 2 under 2 a 15 month old and a 5 month oldwhile he works 8-8pm he never cooks he rather buy. I wash his work clothes I fold them I also do our clothes kids clothes and I fold he folds maybe with me once a month. I bathe the kids dress them he puts pjs on not daily he will say for me to do it I do everything he can’t put his pj and give him his bottle with milk while I get the other 5 month old ready and he falls asleep with 15 month old. I feel he falls asleep to not do responsibilities sometimes he doesn’t even shower when I said I don’t want him dirty in the bed I wash sheets weekly. I cook his breakfast at 7am and make dinner everyday I clean bathrooms weekly deep clean every 2 weeks I sweep mop every other day vacuum daily I told him that I needed a bit more help he washes dishes maybe once a week but sometimes he doesn’t do them all leaves some and doesn’t clean the sink or counters. Bottles I used to do it by my self everyday untill second baby it’s just too much to wash 10 bottles in the day and 10 at night or more and they are the dr brown anti colic takes a while to wash and he would help 2-3 times a week then I told him I’ll do morning bottles he can do night bottles he doesn’t do it every night. He was going to wash dinner dishes but didn’t or bottles the next day his day off I did breakfast he said I will wash dishes and bottles I said oh ok but got doubled. When night time came he washed dishes left pans said if I wanted to help him with that or bottles or which one do I want to do I said no I don’t ask everyday that I do it. So he took his time but he was on his phone watching different games and trading all day what bothers me is he leaves his stuff everywhere his work clothes all over the house his towel also I don’t pick it up after a year I noticed he started leaving 5 different work shirts thrown anywhere. I serve his plate he doesn’t like to pick up his plate I serve my 10 year old she cleans up and puts her plate in the sink he will leave it for me to get up when I’m done if I eat dinner and clean up table and his plate he will literally walk away I leave it or if he drinks something or water bottle leaves it on table empty doesn’t put in recycling he also takes forever to change garbage and once a week almost over filling also diapers fills the genie and another garbage bag half full of the Costco white ones. I don’t know what to do I have asked nicely and he says ok nothing changes told him I feel like a servant what do I do or what do I say I’m tired of repeating myself asking an adult

Weaning - 7 months

I’ve done this all before and I don’t know why I’m stressing.

My daughter is 7 months almost and I feel like I’m fighting a loosing battle with weaning. Some days she’s interested, others she barely eats anything, she had been unwell this week so I don’t think this also helped.

I’m not sure why I’m stressing about the situation but I just feel like she should be enjoying weaning more than she is. My son was a gannet and ate EVERYTHING. She seems to be the total opposite 😫

Anyone else in the same boat?

If your BD got married and decided to have another family years later would you be hurt?

Just curious if it had been 5+ years, your BD got married and had a baby with their wife. Would it upset you? And if it did, what would you say and to who?

Uk mums, has your child missed first two days of primary school ( early years like year 1) before?

Was it an issue for your child? Or was it okay?
