Weaning - 7 months

I’ve done this all before and I don’t know why I’m stressing.

My daughter is 7 months almost and I feel like I’m fighting a loosing battle with weaning. Some days she’s interested, others she barely eats anything, she had been unwell this week so I don’t think this also helped.

I’m not sure why I’m stressing about the situation but I just feel like she should be enjoying weaning more than she is. My son was a gannet and ate EVERYTHING. She seems to be the total opposite 😫

Anyone else in the same boat?

I’m dealing with the same thing I’m not sure on what to do, I just keep trying to encourage it x

My baby girl is the same - some days she's interested and others she's not. This is my first baby so I'm not sure what to expect. Feel like other babies are eating 3 course meals compared to my baby 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have to admit that I've found it a struggle too. My daughter just wanted to play with it and threw up the first few times which made me nervous! I've got a bit of a method now where I give her some finger food to play with like cucumber, then give her something savoury and new, and end it on something she likes (normally banana based). In my head, it means she gets to play, try something new, and ends on a happy note. I think they all take it at their own, and different, pace. But it is more challenging than I thought it would be!

Just curious how you coped when having a second

This is going to sound odd and probably laughable to some people. That’s okay.

How do you cope going from 1 to 2?

We’ve just babysat our 3 year old niece for the first time overnight with our 2 year old and my gosh we’re exhausted 😂

From refusing to go to bed, to pushing each other, to throwing things at each others heads, to multiple wakings through the night, refusing food and refusing to drink. How do you cope?

It’s really put me off having another, especially as I’ve learned how much my daughter hates sharing and gets possessive over me 😬

I don’t know what the point of this post is….. word vomit

Sorry I don’t even really know what the point of this post is but I just really need to let it out to people who don’t know me 🙃
Every time something goes wrong for my husband, or he can’t find something it’s automatically ‘my fault’ to the point he’ll even call me at work to tell me it’s my fault and then takes his frustration out verbally on me.
At least 3 times a week he goes out with his mates, I tell him he needs to be up at X time because I have to get me and our son ready etc and without fail that never happens and of course it’s my fault again. When he’s hungover he locks himself in the spare room and won’t come out until I cook dinner. If I even ask for help with our son because I need to do washing, tidying, general household stuff he gets annoyed and short with our son.
It’s got to the point we don’t even have family days out anymore because he’s too hungover or can’t be bothered and I’m fed up of making excuses for him when he doesn’t show up at family events.
Sorry I know this makes zero sense and just word vomit but I needed to let it out somewhere 😭😭

I don’t understand my 2-year-old son’s behavior (he’s two years old, give or take three days)

Hello, everyone,

He’s been in the care of a child care provider since late May, who took time off in July (during which he was looked after by my family and occasionally at daycare). Before her time off, things weren’t too bad. he was just still a bit reserved.

But since he went back to the child care provider three weeks ago, it’s been really tough. My son gets frustrated very quickly, gives orders (rather aggressively) to the dog and to me, and says “MINE” for everything. I’m forced to constantly scold him for everything and nothing (and raise my voice because once he’s in the middle of a “tantrum,” he doesn’t listen) whether it’s in the evening or even more and more on the weekends.

Before, like so many children, he would also express his refusal (and I’d have to raise my voice too), but much less frequently and with much less intensity. It wasn’t to the point where he’d start flailing his arms in the air.

A little girl the same age, who’s cared for by the same child care provider, acts the same wayw but even more so, and has been doing so at home for several months now (so she’s had quite a few “punishments,” “naughty moments,” and “time-outs”).

Could my little one’s recent and changing behavior be due to the fact that he’s copying his classmate? Or does he not feel comfortable there? Is this just a normal phase of the “terrible twos”?

My patience is wearing thin, especially since he still isn’t sleeping through the night (he wakes up 2 or 3 times, for varying lengths of time), the nighttime weaning that had been going well for a month and a half has fallen apart, and the atmosphere at work is tense.

Sorry for the long post, I’ve got a lot on my mind...

Thanks, and have a great weekend

Depression, loneliness and anxiety

I'm really struggling and I feel very alone at home. I need some support.
I'm not from here originally. I moved to be with my partner. We planned this pregnancy. I checked in with him and always asked if he was sure he felt ready.
Now I'm being made to feel like a burden.
He is incredibly frustrated to be the bread winner. He voiced that he feels trapped. We have really difficult discussion almost weekly now. I almost always walk away feeling like as the SAHM it's my responsibility to pick him back up. I do most of the parenting on my own. I have to ask him to watch our baby or to go do something as a family. He's angry and unhappy most days. I don't have very many friends here. The friends I do have here - their husband or partners are friends of my partner. So I really feel I can't vent. I feel incredibly alone. I sometimes feel like I can't cry or be upset because he then thinks I'm weaponising my feelings to shut down conversation or deflect accountability.
All the stress has affected my milk supply
I'm spiralling but trying to stay strong and happy for my baby.
I really just want one say where he goes out of his way to be nice to me. Like he's not violent or aggressive just an asshole.

Sorry these thoughts aren't organised. I'm emotional and feel crushed and am typing while nursing ( and trying not to cry). 🙃

I just wanna know I guess if anyone else has seen a change in their partner after baby arrived?
How did you overcome?

Am I in the wrong

My partner says hes leaving me and the baby because hes been telling me I have to tell my mum about her drinking or shes not seeing our son. Ive been saying I'll say it for ages now but never got to it (we're living with her atm) she drinks quite heavily. This morning I came in the bedroom when he was sleeping and said im sitting in there with the baby for a bit becsuse shes pissing me off and I am going to say something to her too. Im stressed as it is as I do everything by myself, neither of us work but I feed (breastfeed), bath, change every nappy, do every clean at night. Hes been days before without having a cuddle with him just talking to him. He tells me im not doing right by our son even tho ive said things about her touching him before etc.. am I in the wrong? Hes made me feel like a terrible mother but I love my baby so much and have breastfed him even when everyone was telling me i should combo feed
Just to add i even cook every meal and cook the dogs chicken every night as well as do the laundry and clean the kitchen after everyone everyday

Mums who’ve flown with a 3-month-old, what are your absolute must-haves for the flight/airport?

First time flying with our little one and I feel like there are probably loads of things I wouldn’t even think to bring 😂

Anything that made the airport, take-off/landing, feeding, nappy changes or getting them to sleep easier? Also anything you bought that you thought was essential but ended up being completely pointless?

Give me all your tips please! 🤍
