My partner says hes leaving me and the baby because hes been telling me I have to tell my mum about her drinking or shes not seeing our son. Ive been saying I'll say it for ages now but never got to it (we're living with her atm) she drinks quite heavily. This morning I came in the bedroom when he was sleeping and said im sitting in there with the baby for a bit becsuse shes pissing me off and I am going to say something to her too. Im stressed as it is as I do everything by myself, neither of us work but I feed (breastfeed), bath, change every nappy, do every clean at night. Hes been days before without having a cuddle with him just talking to him. He tells me im not doing right by our son even tho ive said things about her touching him before etc.. am I in the wrong? Hes made me feel like a terrible mother but I love my baby so much and have breastfed him even when everyone was telling me i should combo feed
Just to add i even cook every meal and cook the dogs chicken every night as well as do the laundry and clean the kitchen after everyone everyday

I mean…it sounds like there’s a lot going on. But if your mother is drinking excessively that is not a good environment to have your baby in. I hope you’re not allowing her to watch the baby; intoxicated people have their judgement impaired. I don’t know that just talking with her about it is enough, as getting sober can be very difficult and many people struggle with that, have relapses, etc. That’s a lot to be around and have a baby or young child exposed to. Just based off of that I would say he’s justified to be concerned. I don’t know how leaving you would address the issue unless he was going to take the baby. Could be he’s just not sure how to fix it if you’re not cooperating and washing his hands of everything. Or maybe he’s hoping it’ll be a wake up call for you to finally address the issue. Yes it’s a serious issue and should be addressed if you’re living together and thus could affect the baby.
She never watches the baby and we're never even all sat together. I would never let her supervisor him even when sober. Were hoping to move out soon too. I dont even let her touch the baby EVER. I would not put him at risk.
