Pp baby blues?

Anyone have tearful times or feelings of overwhelm 3 weeks post Partum? Having very up and down emotions that consume me and feel like I can’t cope at times. Not wanting to go on medication from the GP at this point. Any stories similar and if so how long did it last?

this is so so normal. 2-3 weeks is right when you experience the big hormones crash.

I had a terrible hormonal crash and cried pretty much all the time. Speaking to a GP is always a good idea if you are overwhelmed and it really gets so much better x)

yes, had due to loosing 1.78L blood during birth + my best grandma passed away when my baby was 5 weeks old. My fiancé and I don’t have support village (his part died out) my part is back abroad. I’m just glad grandma saw my little one via videochat but felt guilty as couldn’t go to her funeral + mum came to help for 2 weeks from abroad when her mum passed away.🫣😮‍💨 I also did not talk to GP only to my partner who is super patient with me gladly. Hormones hit me harder at 3-4 months PP. I am now 5.5 months PP and feeling better still there are some days when I need alone time and my partner is looking after the baby. I would recommend to do daily walk it did help me but at the beginning was difficult due to weather conditions and healing. Also meet your friends without the baby even if it’s for a coffee. I started to take my lil one to some mama baba free clubs locally at the council Health visitor recommended (giggles & wiggles, baby massage etc classes) Lot of strength xx

Do I really need an infant car seat?

I'm struggling with the wastefulness and consumerism that comes with creating a baby registry. So much of this stuff will be used for 2-3 months and then donated or trashed. I noticed that most of the convertible car seats are good from 4lbs to 50lbs. Can I just use that or do I need an infant car seat too?

Losing my actual mind

Right, so my 3 week old will not stop crying unless she’s breastfeeding. But, if I feed her constantly, then she screeches because she’s taking far too much, which results in trapped wind.
How in the hell do I get her to stop crying, so I can actually take two minutes for myself. I’m hardly eating, showering happens past midnight when she’s finally settled and forget about something as simple as brushing my hair.
Seriously, is this normal behaviour? Because everyone is suggesting I just let her cry out, but that isn’t happening, because I refuse to let her cry to the point where she coughs, and she won’t stop anyway.

Breast pump advice

Hey! I have been breast pumping since my baby was born mid-July. I’m just past the 4 week mark and my supply has dropped. I did see that this is common “week 4 reset” thing. I pump every two hours and am trying to eat and drink more (didn’t know how hard this would be as a first time mom lol)

My main concern is that the last week or so, just my right nipple has started to crack/so sore and is pretty freaking painful now while pumping. I have gone up and down a flange size and use nipples cream to assist with rubbing but nothing is working.

If it doesn’t get better I may have to quit and I don’t want that 😭

Any recommendations? / advice?

Baby washing

FTM! What are people using to wash their baby clothes ready for the first wear? There’s alot online about fragrance free etc but I’m not sure.

PPD

Is it normal to feel postpartum depression a year after having a baby I felt fine after my second baby was born but around 6 months postpartum I started feeling very depressed and having a hard time connecting with my kids I just don’t even feel like a person anymore I’m now 9 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and feel absolutely no connection to this pregnancy I’m afraid I won’t feel a connection with this baby at all once they are born.(it’s not just the kids tho I also feel like I lost a connection with my partner I can’t stand him I do love him I just seem to feel annoyed at everything my partner or my kids do I don’t like anybody touching me I don’t like cuddles with any on them and I feel horrible about it )

How do I prepare my velcro baby for nursery?

He’s 11.5months, spends 24/7 with me, exclusively breastfed, only transfers to cot when in deep sleep and cosleeps at night. I am so scared of traumatising him when he goes to nursery full time 😭
